A chain of fitness studios in the UK is now offering classes for children and teenagers with Fortnite themes. Coaches get the kids moving with the dances from the popular video game Fortnite. A wonderful video shows how such a training session goes.
Kids are crazy about the game: “Fortnite Battle Royale” has been around since September 2017. Around January 2018, the game started its victorious journey, which led through the children’s rooms of the world.
Because Fortnite is a free-to-play game, runs on almost every console, and attracts many young players with its comic graphics and exciting gameplay. The age rating for Fortnite is actually from 16, but most parents don’t care.
Parents are worried: But their children’s enthusiasm for Fortnite raises concerns among many parents. They feel that their child is only sitting in front of the screen and moving too little.
This conflict wants to be solved by a chain of fitness studios. They want to use the enthusiasm for the dances from Fortnite to get them sweating.
Club teaches children 12 Fortnite dances
This is what the club says: The British fitness club “David Lloyd Clubs” encourages children and teenagers to put their controllers aside for a choreography. They will dance “Emote Royale”: a unique workout that aims to teach the class the dances from Fortnite.
The victory dances from Fortnite are used to celebrate in the game. They have become so famous that movie stars like Will Smith and football players like Dele Alli use them in the real world.
Allegedly, the course was developed in collaboration with 12-year-olds and is explicitly aimed at children. It is intended for the summer holidays.
What is taught? The soundtrack from the game is used to teach the children 12 dances. The coaches start with simple things so that the children are fit enough for the dances on the floor and for the robot.
The following dances can be seen in the video:
- Flossing – the floss dance
- The Worm
- Hype
- Orange Justice – a dance popularized by a young fan
- Best Mate
- Take the L – the dance Antoine Griezmann showed in the World Cup final
Is it available with us too? The fitness chain does have a club in Germany, in Bad Homburg. However, the Fortnite courses are only offered in selected clubs. It is mainly a British phenomenon.
And when the kids are fit enough, they can play “Fortnite” in real life afterwards:
