Forget aim bots and wall hacks – cheaters in Call of Duty: Warzone have reached the next level and are running through the battle royale in “God Mode.” Videos show desperate players trying to cope against invulnerable cheaters.
What’s going on? That Call of Duty: Warzone has a problem with cheaters is likely widely known among the player base. Cheaters use cheat programs to assist with aiming and/or see enemies through walls. Some even use equipment that actually doesn’t exist.
But all these cheaters could at least die before – tactics and cover are not the strengths of unfair players. However, currently, even this small hope seems unreachable, as through a hack or glitch, cheaters are now reaching the highest form of cheating in a shooter – the God Mode. This makes cheaters immune to enemy damage.
Can God Mode establish itself in Warzone?
What does it look like? A few months ago, there were reports of a God Mode in Warzone. At that time, a Reddit video from the user “SCAR020” displayed the extent of the despair. The team of the thread creator is still complete in a 4-player “battle royale” and fights against 9 other players in 6 teams. Ideally optimal conditions to secure a victory. But one enemy is unfortunately not as usual against the targeted sniper shots:
“He’s not dying… Yes, he’s not dying!” – with these words begins the beginning of the end of a strong round. The team tries everything to eliminate the nasty cheater from the map. But nothing seems to work. Even execution finishers have no effect on the God Mode cheater – the character takes the headshot, lies on the ground, and then stands up immediately.
One team member manages to stay alive until the end. The cheater and the last survivor engage in a cat-and-mouse game over a ground fixation of a large street sign. But in the end, it comes as it had to come: The cheater takes out the last opponent, securing an undeserved victory.
What’s new? After the mid-season 4 update, the God Mode re-emerges – even in the loot mode. There is currently some method to make oneself completely invulnerable. A new, annoying development in a game that has been suffering significantly from cheaters in recent weeks.
Whether the God Mode was triggered by a glitch in the game or a cheat program cannot currently be said for sure. Previous instances of the cheat were always linked to a broken mechanic in the game, as the God Mode was a glitch.
What do the players say? While the mood in the old thread from “SCAR020” still leans towards gallows humor, the tone in the new thread about the loot God Mode is harsher. Many commentators are disappointed, even almost angry about the state of the game:
- garymc88: “Hacking in loot – that’s a new low”
- Suitable-Dingo-3666: “Finally – a guaranteed way to lose the game to cheaters. But… what happens when multiple God Mode users are in a game? It would never end.”
- LeadOnion: “Yeah, I was pretty deep into that game for a long time. But the lack of interest in fixing it is crazy. I don’t play [Warzone] anymore.”
What’s next? The God Mode is reproducible. A user in the Reddit thread checked the statistics of the loot cheater and stated that there were several suspicious matches in the profile – all loot and all without deaths, but with many kills (via reddit). However, the profile is currently no longer accessible (via codtracker.gg).
The last visits of God Mode in Warzone were only brief, and one can only hope that it will be the same this time. But currently, invulnerability is the new super cheat in Warzone, leaving players in despair.
Warzone is a fun battle royale with a high speed and new approaches that have evolved the genre. However, there are frequent waves of cheaters, unfair glitches, or bugs, and many players have had enough of the frustration that comes from encounters with cheaters.
Hopefully, God Mode will also disappear quickly from the game this time and not cause any more damage. Trust is at a low point and even professionals are already setting up 5 cameras to avoid being considered a cheater. It can only get better – until the next God Mode.
