In Destiny 2 there are many types of players and clans that you like and dislike encountering. One type of player falls into the category of “sweaty” players who want to complete everything perfectly and with maximum efficiency. A veteran from Destiny 1 had to painfully realize that not every type of player is there for a relaxed game of Destiny.
Who was affected? The Reddit user TeacherSalary posted about his experience in Destiny 2 with a new clan he had found. The user comes from Destiny 1, where he also had his clan, but he had to search for a new one since his clan gradually fell silent in the first year of Destiny 2.
For this reason, TeacherSalary sought a group in the notorious LFG (Looking for Group) to complete Crota, the latest legacy raid. He quickly found a group and a player who explained all the phases to him and even invited him to an active clan – exactly what he was looking for.
He then found himself in an active clan, with many players, a Discord server, frequent raids, and good admins managing everything. Additionally, the clan was set to “relaxed,” so Teacher knew what to expect, but things were about to change.
In Destiny there are some players who are not just playing for ‘fun’
How did the story end? After the Crota run, TeacherSalary was asked if he wanted to do a Nightfall with a high score. Although he had never completed one before, he accepted the challenge. The run was a success, and the Guardians emerged victorious after the first attempt. However, his teammates mocked him for his loadout.
He allegedly had the “wrong” weapons and elements, bringing the team down. According to him, that was the first drop that catapulted him out. The last drops that caused the barrel to overflow were a raid run in the Deep Stone Crypt. As a Warlock, he played without a Well, instead using the Nova Bomb.
For this reason, the team could not defeat the final boss in the first phase, which made the leader furious. He wanted to restart the phase, but Teacher insisted on defeating the boss in the same run, as a wipe made no sense. They did defeat Taniks in the second round and then said their goodbyes.
The next day, Teacher discovered indignantly that he had been kicked from the Discord channel as well as the clan without being given a reason for it.
Although this behavior is very surprising, many Guardians have gone through similar experiences one way or another. Teacher believes it was due to his disagreements and the way he played Destiny 2.
Are players in Destiny 2 always like this? As in every game, you will either encounter relaxed people that you want to have around you or the sweaty ones who want to complete every activity with perfection and without mistakes.
If you encounter the latter, it can quickly become uncomfortable, as such Guardians usually do not understand fun. If you then make a mistake in their presence, you will be mocked, put down, and, as in this extreme case, perhaps even kicked from the team or clan.
Therefore, do not let yourselves be discouraged if you encounter such players; do yourselves a favor and leave the group. They are not worth the nerves and the stress. Destiny 2 is meant to be fun and not to win a prize.
