In Valorant, the Ranked mode should have returned with Patch 1.02. However, a serious bug is causing players to occasionally spawn in the enemy zone. This was the premature end of the Ranked system in Valorant. But now the Ranked mode is back.
What does the bug do? With the new Update 1.02, the Ranked mode has been freshly brought back into the game. On the night of June 24, 2020, Valorant announced that a serious bug had been discovered, which jeopardized the competitive mode (Ranked), and it was taken offline for the time being. A little later, Game Director Joe Ziegler also updated via Twitter and announced:
Update: bad news. We are investigating a reported issue where players can occasionally spawn at the spawn point of the opposing team. We are actively working to resolve this issue and eliminate it as soon as possible, but we will not activate the competitive mode until it is fixed.
Bug likely brings Ranked system down for days
Bug leads to strange scenes: On reddit, players confirmed that the bug exists: “This just happened to me. It was really funny, I spawned between 5 people and got immediately shot down by the crowd.”
Since such a bug completely ruins fair competition, the Ranked mode is therefore gone for now. However, you can still play regular matches in Valorant that have no ranking.
How long will it take to fix the bug? The developers at Riot Games had already announced back then that they would tackle the issue immediately. Yesterday, the developers assumed that it would probably take another one or two days before the Ranked mode could be activated again.
Ranked Mode is back: However, apparently the issue was resolved faster than expected. Because as early as 5 a.m. on June 25, 2020, the Ranked mode could be reactivated in Europe. Everything should now function as intended.
According to former pro and top streamer shroud, the temporary loss of the Ranked mode is not that bad anyway. Because in another post, the top gamer complained about it and noted that the ranked mode in Valorant is not worth anything and was hindering a career as a professional gamer.
