In one of the worlds of Valheim (Steam), the harbor of Stormwind now stands. Normally, it can be found in World of Warcraft, but a player spent hours meticulously bringing the harbor to the survival game.
This is what the player built: The reddit user and Valheim player ericxsg recreated the harbor of Stormwind. The landmark of the Alliance capital has been adorned with most of the details that can also be found in WoW, such as:
- the docks to Northrend, Darnassus, and Kul Tiras
- the shipyard where new ships are constructed
- Towers and walls
- the buildings and training areas that have been there since the preparation for Legion
- Crates and barrels that are also found on the docks and at the harbor in World of Warcraft
- the large lion statue that overlooks the harbor – built from individual wooden beams
Even the ships are anchored, although they are somewhat smaller than the galleons from WoW. Only the airships that usually wait over the harbor are missing. But so far, no one has managed to build so high in the air in Valheim. Nevertheless, the harbor was apparently a lot of work. We have included the images here in our gallery, and you can also find them in the thread on reddit.
30 hours and some tricks for the build
How long did it take him? According to his own statements, ericxsg needed over 30 hours for the harbor. This is pure building time, as he built all of this in creative mode – so he didn’t have to farm materials for it. Otherwise, it would probably have taken well over 200 hours – like the huge fortress of FallenQsnow.
How did he manage it? Despite being in creative mode, the player had to pay attention to some things, such as stability and foundations. To build the docks, he first had to raise the ground in the sea so that the wood could remain stable in the end.
Like in WoW, the Stormwind Harbor in Valheim is mostly made of stone. In this case, it is even important for the stability of his buildings. Because stone counts as a “foundation” and thus provides stability for everything built on it.
The rest is thanks to hours of hard work. Many users praised ericxsg for his attention to detail; some even thought at first glance that it was screenshots from WoW. He himself says that during the build, he constantly looked at the harbor on the second screen to capture as many details as possible.
Such huge projects are not uncommon in Valheim. Many players use the opportunities to fully express themselves and build the craziest things – from cities to Sauron’s tower to spaceships.
