The survival game Valheim is in Early Access and the team has already announced new updates with additional content. The developers have now spoken a bit more about what’s to come, including mini-bosses.
What are these updates? So far, four major updates for the Steam hit Valheim have been announced. These will bring new content and significantly expand the popular game.
- Update 1: Hearth and Home
The update will focus on the building aspect of Valheim. It will bring more cooking recipes and new objects that you can build. - Update 2: Cult of the Wolf
Cult of the Wolf will focus on the exploration of the game world and the combat. There are new encounters that will differ from previous ones. The developers want to remain deliberately mysterious about this. - Update 3: Ships and the Sea
The sea and thus also sailing with ships will become more interesting and exciting. You can also further customize your boats. - Update 4: Mistlands
The update brings a new biome into the game. There you will encounter more enemies, a new boss, and find new resources. Mistlands already exist on the map, but currently, nothing can be found there.
Prepare for new boss fights in Valheim
What is particularly interesting? Henrik Törnqvist, co-founder of Iron Gate Studios, explains that there will be significant changes regarding boss enemies. Not only will you see a new final boss in the Mistlands biome, but every new biome will also have a boss.
In the final version of the game, there will be nine biomes with nine bosses. We are also exploring the addition of mini-bosses and such things. So yes, there will be more bosses.

When will the updates come? There are no dates yet. However, they are all planned for this year. We can therefore expect that we will receive approximately one update each quarter.
Some of the content, such as the new biomes Mistlands, Deep North, and Ashlands, are already in the game but still empty. Those who are curious can still go explore them.
