Two years ago, a vampire survival game started in Early Access on Steam. With the full release, a final area is now introduced. PS5 players can finally look forward to a release as well.
What kind of game is this? V Rising is a vampire survival game that entered Early Access on Steam on May 17, 2022. Since then, the game has received 88% positive reviews on the platform.
You awaken as a vampire at a time when your people have long been forgotten and face a new struggle for survival. You raid villages to quench your thirst for blood and regain your strength, and build a castle to reclaim your glory.
A new trailer for the full release of the game has now been released. It not only showcases a new area but also combat gameplay and teases your real goal as a vampire:
When is the release? The full release is on May 8, 2024. Then you will be able to buy the game in its full version on Steam. At the same time, the PS5 release has also been announced. This is slated for 2024, although PS5 users will have to wait a bit longer for an exact date.
In the PS Store, you can at least add the title to your wishlist.
What can you expect? As the trailer shows, players can look forward not only to the full version of V Rising – Ruins of Mortium, i.e., Update 1.0, but also to a new area. Mortium, once the stronghold of vampires, seems to be quite endgame material.
Mortium is no longer what it used to be; as seen in the trailer, it is now a dark, partly decayed snow landscape. Still, your path will eventually lead you into this area and further into its depths.
Your goal seems to be quite clear. You want to escape the servitude of Dracula and gain control over the vampires yourself, like many other vampires.
In the area, not only further servants and cultists of Dracula lurk, but also unknown dangers from foreign worlds. You can drain their blood to grow stronger and receive interesting bonuses. For example, their blood makes you faster at night or helps you heal better.
The trailer shows that in combat, you can use both weapons and your vampire powers. For example, you see the character striking with a greatsword, moving like a shadow through enemies, or taking out multiple enemies at once with magical projectiles.
