Which Pokémon is it about? On Saturday, November 12th, the Community Day with Teddiursa will take place in Pokémon GO, which brings you not only familiar faces but also a new monster: Ursaluna.
We will explain below what kind of monster it is, how strong it will be, and how you can get it for the C-Day.

What kind of Pokémon is Ursaluna? Ursaluna is a Pokémon from the 8th generation of games, belonging to the types Ground and Normal. It can evolve from Teddiursa via Ursaring, which makes its debut perfectly fit for the Community Day with the little bear.
What does it look like? Visually, Ursaluna also resembles a bear, but unlike its two pre-evolutions, it moves on four legs. It has a gray-brown to dark brown fur and a strong body. It also has a yellow round spot on its forehead, which is meant to resemble a full moon.
Will there be a Shiny Ursaluna? Since Teddiursa can already be caught in its shiny form in Pokémon GO, you will most likely be able to evolve it into Shiny Ursaluna as well. You will recognize it by its reddish-brown fur.
How strong is Ursaluna?
These are its values & attacks: Which exact values and attacks Ursaluna will have are not officially known yet. Only the event charge attack “Pferdestärke” (Horsepower), which it is supposed to get during the Community Day, has already been confirmed by Niantic (via pokemongolive.com).
The Pokéminers, a group of data miners, have found some initial information in the game code.
Thus, Ursaluna can score well in attack, stamina, and defense. Accordingly, it will rely on the following values:
- Attack: 269
- Defense: 201
- Stamina: 277
With these values, it is significantly better than Stalobor, which is one of the best Ground attackers in Pokémon GO.
Additionally, the Pokéminers have come across more attacks. Besides “Pferdestärke”, it will be able to learn other charge attacks. Therefore, you can presumably look forward to the following attacks:
- Fast attack:
- Tackle (Normal type)
- Smash (Fighting type)
- Charge attack:
- Fire Blast (Fire type)
- Thunder Strike (Electric type)
- Aero Ace (Flying type)
- Horsepower (Ground type)
In addition, you were able to catch Teddiursa in the past in its shadow form. By evolving this form, Ursaluna will also be able to learn the charge attacks Frustration and Return.
Will Ursaluna be strong? Based on its values, Ursaluna can definitely be convincing; however, it does not have a particularly good moveset. Other than Tackle and Horsepower, it relies only on attacks that do not correspond to its own type.
If these movesets remain the same, Ursaluna will initially be less interesting for players primarily for use in raids. Trainers had also hoped for more from the new Pokémon in the GO Battle League.
However, if Niantic improves the attacks and gives Ursaluna a strong Ground moveset, it could become one of the best attackers in Pokémon GO.
How to obtain Ursaluna
Unlike most other Pokémon in the game, Ursaluna can only be evolved during a full moon. So, during the Community Day with Teddiursa, you will have the chance to do so for the first time. From November 12, 2022, at 2:00 PM local time to November 13, 2022, at 6:00 AM local time, a full moon will be visible in the game.
To evolve Ursaluna during this time, you will need a total of 100 Teddiursa candies. If you miss this opportunity, evolving will only be possible at the next full moon.
