The CEO was asked in an interview with “New Street Research” whether the business of mobile games can be compared to that of dating apps. Kim then presented an interesting analogy but also admitted that he spent $50,000 on Clash of Clans in three months.

What did the CEO say? The comparison aimed to highlight what long-term successes could be achieved in mobile games and with apps like Tinder in one’s life. Bernard Kim believes:
No one plays these games forever. At a certain point, people leave a gaming experience. And what do you have left? Personally, I spent $50,000 on Clash of Clans in three months, and I still look back on it with a lot of shame. I think: “Oh my God, what did I really take from that experience?” Nothing, except for a really amazing wall, which is not cool today.

Kim then addresses the interviewer directly, as he apparently met his wife through the dating app Tinder. Kim suggests that one could derive much more real benefits from a dating app and even find joy for life.

Clash of Clans isn’t necessarily the best game if you want to fight your way to the top with a lot of money.
