Today, on January 14, there are some exciting new features in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. A highlight is the introduction of a Gunfight mode that fans have long been wishing for.
Source of the information: In the Blog “This Week in Call of Duty“, the developers at Infinity Ward summarized the features that will be available to you later tonight.
Additionally, there are more details that are known and could soon be implemented.
These new features come today
When will the next updates come? Every Tuesday, including today, January 14, the playlists for Modern Warfare will be updated. This time, there will be 3 modes added:
- Gunfight 3vs3: This mode was recently teased and is now coming to the game. On the small maps of Gunfight, you can now move in teams of 3 and battle each other.
- Cranked: The mode places you in a classic team deathmatch with a special twist: If you get a kill, you must get another kill in a short time or you will explode.
- Drop Zone: Here, you must hold and capture multiple drop zones. Killstreaks are only available through care packages that are dropped. The player who holds the most zones wins.

Especially the Gunfight mode 3vs3 has been long requested by players. Now you can experience close combat with two friends. The fight will certainly become even tighter, as 3 players can better corner their opponents.
Where to get more XP: From January 17 to January 19 at 7 PM German time, there will be double XP and double weapon XP again. So it’s worth playing a bit more over the weekend to level up.
What features are expected soon? Infinity Ward is currently working on various bug fixes that have been concerning the community, including issues involving player collision and severe glitches where players go under the map.
A new feature that might return soon is the tournament mode in Gunfight. It was tested in a beta last year and a return has already been announced.
Moreover, a Tamagotchi watch is expected to come to the game, which has already been sighted by some players.
Lastly, Modern Warfare made headlines when they organized a donation campaign for the wildfires in Australia:
