Activision explained in a blog post what to expect in the upcoming update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone. Included are a new map for multiplayer and weapons for the Battle Royale.
What a revelation! The makers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone keep us updated with “community updates” regularly. The latest post on the Activision blog now revealed what to expect in the next update.
Included are 4 new weapons for Warzone and the last Season 2 map for Modern Warfare.
Update March 25, 7:00 AM – The planned update has been postponed and will likely not be released until later this week:
Update from March 25 with new release time – Content for Warzone and MP
When does the update come? Although we are used to CoD delivering new content every Tuesday around 7 PM in our timezone, this update apparently won’t be available until Wednesday morning (March 25) at 7 AM. The blog post indicates March 24 – 11 PM PT.
What’s new in Warzone? For the successful Battle Royale of Call of Duty, a few new weapons are coming. Although we are familiar with these firearms from multiplayer, after the update they will also be found all over Warzone:
- 725 – 2-shot shotgun with massive power
- MK2 Carbine – rifle with decent range
- EBR-14 – semi-automatic rifle with moderate range and high rate of fire
- .50 GS – the Desert Eagle from CoD MW
The weapons can be found as standard variants without attachments, but they also receive special versions in different rarities, which already come with certain attachments. None of these weapons is considered the best Warzone guns, but especially the 725 clears everything in close quarters.
The playlist in Warzone likely won’t change this week. The solo mode remains active and we will probably have to wait a bit longer for the “duo” or “squad” modes.
What’s coming for the regular multiplayer? Season 2 is slowly entering its final phase, and now the last announced map is coming. “Khandor Hideout” is a medium-sized 6vs6 map that features a large warehouse in the center and areas around it for all combat distances.
A new operator bundle is also available. “Talon” brings cool face paint and a lot of hair gel to the fight, and can be assisted by his loyal dog “Indiana” during his finishing move.
What else is going on with CoD? Since the release of Warzone on March 10, the regular multiplayer has fallen into the background for some players, and even for some big streamers, Warzone is currently taking center stage.
