In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone there is now the new sniper rifle Rytec AMR. We will show you how to unlock the weapon.
This is the new weapon: On June 30, there was the largest weapon update regarding Modern Warfare since release. The update also brought the sniper rifle Rytec AMR into the game.
The update was huge and also introduced a new 200-player mode in Warzone. The patch had a maximum size of 39 GB.

How to get the new sniper in Modern Warfare
What you need to do for the sniper: The Rytec AMR can only be obtained through 2 ways:
- In Modern Warfare and Warzone, a challenge awaits you. If you complete this, you will receive the sniper rifle as a reward.
- Alternatively, you can buy the blueprint in the in-game shop and unlock the weapon as well.
How to complete the challenge for the Rytec AMR
What is the task? As a challenge, you have “Get 3 quickscope kills with snipers or DMRs in 15 different matches.”
You need to go hunting with snipers or DMRs and collect quickscope kills. In total, you need to achieve 45 kills this way. So this task is not completed quickly.
You can find the progress for your unlock mission in the weapon tab under the sniper rifles when you select the Rytec.
How should one approach the task? You can choose between sniper rifles and DMRs here. So you have quite a large pool of weapons to choose from.
If you’re using a sniper, we recommend the AX-50. It is currently the best sniper rifle in Modern Warfare. It is also ideal for quickscoping.
If you prefer DMRs, we recommend the MK2 Carbine. It is the best weapon of this kind and very precise. However, this only applies to the multiplayer of MW 2019.
Which scope should you choose? In multiplayer, it’s best to use a smaller scope for this. This way, you are also stronger at close range, and the likelihood of hitting an opponent is higher. Additionally, your scope speed increases.
What you need to consider: When choosing your weapon in multiplayer, you should ensure that you choose a rifle that can kill with the first shot. It would be unfortunate if you land a quickscope, but it isn’t lethal. Therefore, a sniper is better, but the MK2 Carbine is also deadly at almost any distance.
Remember that you not only need to get kills, but you also need to achieve them as quickscope kills. So, it doesn’t help to camp in one spot and look for enemies through your scope. Stay in motion and always look for opponents. If you have a good eye on him and feel you might hit directly, then aim briefly and take a shot. Use these modes and maps: A good variant to complete the challenge is the hardcore mode. Most hits are lethal there, and you can also use more mobile sniper weapons, such as the Dragunov.
We recommend smaller maps, such as Shipment or Shoot House. They are tight, and you can more easily get a kill.
In Warzone, the task is significantly more difficult. Choose a mode with respawn, such as “Plunder”, and try your luck here.
How to buy the Rytec AMR in the shop
This is now available in the shop: In the in-game shop of Modern Warfare, you can currently buy a bundle called “Lost Souls”. This includes the new sniper among other things.
Inside is the blueprint “Damnation”. This is a special version of the Rytec AMR. The bundle costs 1,200 CoD points – equivalent to about 12 euros.
If you invest the 12 euros, you can use the sniper directly. Players report, however, that there is only the weapon’s blueprint. The normal sniper is not available this way.
