Which new weapons are available in CoD now? With Season 3, new weapons have been introduced in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the BR spin-off Warzone 2:
- DMR Echo: SKS – Semi-automatic, Russian rifle with high fire rate
- Handgun Foxtrot: Renetti – Balanced, semi-automatic pistol with unique modification options

Call of Duty Battle Pass brings 2 new weapons for everyone into the game
How do I get the new guns? The unlocking occurs through the free reward track of the battle pass. This means you don’t have to spend money, but just play for a while to get your hands on the weapons:
- Renetti – Battle Pass tier 15
- SKS – Battle Pass tier 31
However, to reach tier 31 for the SKS, you will have to invest a significant amount of playtime. Since the release, there have been double XP events where you can level up the pass faster. Watch out for “Double Tier XP”, as sometimes there are only weapon or account XP events.
What if I don’t unlock the weapons in the battle pass? If you happen to miss a weapon, you can still unlock the firearms after the end of the respective season. However, you will need to complete a task that is usually related to the weapon class.
SKS could be well received
What can the SKS do? The new DMR boasts a “versatile usage history” in its in-game description. This likely refers to the stock attachments. Each stock changes the appearance of the weapon and can transform the utilitarian construction into an elegant hunting rifle with a fine wooden stock.
In terms of feel, it is most similar to the EBR-14 or the assault rifle FAL, which is one of the strongest assault rifles in Warzone. With attachments, you can modify the weapon towards a DMR or mobile single shot rifle.
Just like the EBR, you can only take down opponents in regular multiplayer with headshots. For hits on lower body parts, you will always need at least 2 shots for a kill. However, due to its high fire rate, it forgives more mistakes than the EBR.
How can I use the SKS? The SKS can be useful at short distances as a fast rifle with high mobility values. If you choose attachments to minimize zoom speed, you will get a really strong single shot rifle for short and medium distances, which can also handle a shot at greater distances.
When going for longer distances, the weapon’s application options are quite similar to those of the EBR-14. However, the SKS is still more mobile and faster than the EBR, which recently faced Pay2Win accusations over a blueprint.
Overall, the SKS is likely to be well-received by fans of single shot rifles. The weapon offers good modification options and is versatile. If you manage well with the rifle, you have something for all combat distances. Whether it can stand its ground against the strong sniper competition in Warzone remains to be seen.
Renetti with a nasty 3-shot mode
What can the Renetti do? This semi-automatic 9mm pistol boasts unique modifications in the pistol class. Unlike other handguns, you can switch this new model to a 3-shot mode. A special barrel makes this possible.
So far, there is no sidearm that supports a burst fire or even automatic fire. Therefore, the Renetti could become quite a good choice in the secondary weapons category.
How do I use the Renetti? The 3-shot mode is extremely strong and reliably takes out enemies with a targeted burst to the upper body. If you like having a pistol as a secondary weapon, this gem could become your new favorite.
Weapons of Season 3 are not top-tier guns, but strong
How does the yield compare to other seasons? At first glance, the weapons seem rather weaker than at the last season starts. With Season 1 came the assault rifle RAM-7, which performs very well in Warzone and is regarded as one of the best weapons in regular multiplayer. Season 2 introduced the Grau 5.56, a strong and stable assault rifle, as well as the Striker 45, which is among the strongest SMGs in multiplayer.
However, upon closer inspection, both weapons shine. The SKS comes with high mobility and flexibility, and every fan of single shot rifles should give the weapon a try. The Renetti brings burst fire to the pistol class, scoring with high damage in a short time.
What weapon is being added with Season 3? The roadmap also shows a “Classified” tile with a shadowed weapon. Just like Season 2, one could guess from the icon that a new shotgun will be coming during the season.
