The Twitch streamer Simon “Unge” Wiefels (33) returns after almost six months of absence. Soon, new streams and YouTube videos are expected.
What happened to Unge? After more than 10 years as a content creator, Simon “Unge” Wiefels withdrew from the public eye in May 2023. In a video, he explained that he had been struggling with his mental health for a while.
However, Unge did not disappear completely but streamed under the name “Raik” as a VTuber in English. Now, the 33-year-old is back on X, formerly Twitter, and revealed what the future holds.
Unge is back and “stronger than ever”
Unge has been active on X since the end of October, sharing updates from his everyday life or short videos. On November 12, he followed up with a detailed message to his fans, accompanied by a selfie.
In his post, Unge writes that he simply needed “some distance from this ‘fame'” which can sometimes be a bit too much. Now he is back and “stronger than ever.” The break seems to have done him good, as he learned “more in these months than in 3 full years.”

What’s next? New videos and streams from Unge are expected to follow later in November, according to Unge. The content creator writes that he has “lots of plans.” For instance, he is considering taking advantage of the updated Twitch policies to offer “dual streams,” broadcasting simultaneously on YouTube and Twitch.
For all those who have fallen in love with Unge’s anime avatar with the ears of a red panda, there’s good news: The content creator wants to continue streaming in English as Raik. German streams will continue as usual on the ungespielt channel. It remains to be seen how the 33-year-old will divide his time between the channels.
The excitement is already great among his fans and also his colleagues.
Unge is not the only German Twitch streamer making a comeback after a longer break. Carsten alias “ELoTRiX” returned in September 2023 after having gone through a tough time and being inactive for a while.
