The highlights of the week:
- With Wilderness of Talandre, the first expansion for Throne and Liberty has been released. All info about the new features can be found in our overview.
- The official German patch notes for Wilderness of Talandre can be found here.
- At the start of the expansion, there is lots of loot via Twitch drops and Prime Gaming.
- On March 11, 2025, Reue will be released, the second content patch for the Janthir Wilds expansion of Guild Wars 2. MeinMMO reveals what is included in the content package.
- Jon Bellamy is the new CEO at Jagex (RuneScape). He replaces Phil Mansell after 14 years as the head of the studio. Meanwhile, at RuneFest, there was a packed roadmap for the MMORPG (via runescape.com). One highlight: Old School RuneScape is expected to receive the beta of the HD graphics upgrade in summer. The final release is planned for 2026. The MMORPG is one of the most popular genre representatives on Steam.
What else has happened? There are first details about WoW patch 11.1.5! Look forward to a fresh faction, a boss event, and disturbing visions. Additionally, buffs are returning that were famous and notorious. Lastly, a new cinematic reveals how The War Within continues. We probably will not remain in Azeroth.

New information about Patch 7.2 of FFXIV is coming soon
This is what happened with the big MMORPGs:
- While patch 11.1 for WoW has already been released in February, this major content update was also an important topic this week. For instance, here: The raid boss Gallywix down – well, sort of. One guild achieves the success, but Blizzard immediately intervenes and distributes ban penalties. Nice tips for all bosses are currently being shared by a graphic from the community.

- The secret cartel “Dusk-fused Solutions” in World of Warcraft needs to be unlocked. We reveal in this guide how to do that.
- Additionally, we tell you how to get strong equipment quickly in the new WoW season and which five mounts you can easily farm in 11.1.
- A quest item from the latest patch of World of Warcraft causes chaos. Because it can be used to eliminate all others.
- Phase 3 of WoW Classic Fresh will be released on March 20, 2025. This includes the Blackwing Lair, class quests for level 50, and the Darkmoon Faire. You can find the details at worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com.
- Naoki Yoshida, known in the Final Fantasy XIV community as Yoshi-P, has been secretly degraded at Square Enix. He is no longer a director and thus fulfills a long-held wish of his. - The developers of Elder Scrolls Online have released a preview of the dungeon Bastion of the Departed, which will go live with the DLC Fallen Banners. You can find all the details at elderscrollsonline.com.
- On March 6, a new update for Black Desert was released. Included: Celebrations for the 9th anniversary, sailor management, class changes, and more. The German patch notes can be found at playblackdesert.com.
- Until March 31, 2025, the event Crassus’ Legacy is running in New World – all info about the global event can be found at newworld.com.
This is what happened with the small MMORPGs:
- Actually, free transfers from the old 32-bit to the new 64-bit servers of Lord of the Rings Online were supposed to be possible starting on March 4, 2025. However, the large influx of players disrupted the developers’ plans.
- Gran Saga will soon celebrate its premature end. This is particularly noteworthy because the anime MMORPG was only released on November 8, 2024, and was developed over many years and with a decent budget.
- The indie studio Happy Cauldron Games has acquired the rights to Fractured Online and has taken the developers on board. With more secure financing, they aim to lead the MMORPG into a successful future (via linkedin.com).
- EverQuest II is celebrating its anniversary with the return of the Chronoportal phenomenon. The event goes live with some new features, and you can find all the details at everquest2.com.
- The developers of Blade & Soul Neo have published a roadmap for spring and summer. The first update, Moonwater Plains, is set to be released on March 11, 2025. You can find all the details at bladeandsoul.com.

This is what happened with MMORPGs in development:
- With The Quinfall, a new MMORPG started in early access on Steam on January 24, 2025. Just a few weeks later, you can secure the game for almost free – and that until March 10, 2025.
- The South Korean developer Jake Song has made a name for himself among MMORPG fans with ArcheAge and Lineage. The new ArcheAge Chronicles was supposed to be his biggest success so far. However, that will not happen. He left the team back in January 2025.
- The cozy MMORPG BitCraft Online will launch in early access on Steam on May 29, 2025.
- The early access version of Pax Dei is continually being expanded with new content. This week, the developers introduced the new voice chat on playpaxdei.com.
- This week, patch 0.16.89 was released for the early access version of Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen. Included: the druid class. You can find the patch notes on Steam.
- The sandbox MMORPG Stars Reach successfully started a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. There are still more than two and a half weeks left, and it has already raised multiple times the hoped-for 184,959 euros.
- The developers of Brighter Shores want to fundamentally revise the combat experience and have now published their plans (via brightershores.com).
- The next playtest of Monsters and Memories is scheduled to take place from April 11 to April 13. Additionally, the developers have published an updated roadmap (via monstersandmemories.com).
- A new MMORPG called Celtic Heroes has launched on Steam in early access. The 31 reviews so far are mostly negative.
