Today, the Ultimate Football League (UFL) launches as a competitor to EA FC. The open beta is available for download starting now. But when can you play the first online match?
What kind of game is this? UFL comes from the small development studio “Strikerz”, which is tackling its first major project in the gaming industry. The game was announced at Gamescom 2021.
For several years now, the company has been working on its own football simulation game. They are using Unreal Engine 5, which is supposed to provide great graphics. It will be free to play on all consoles after the official release and will be a purely online game.
After several content creators from the FIFA scene were able to try out the alpha version last year, the free open beta starts this weekend for players worldwide. However, it is not available for all consoles.
Which consoles is the open beta for? The open beta is playable on PC and next-generation consoles, namely PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. All other consoles cannot play the open beta.
Download and start of the open beta: servers are online
At the beginning of the week, the download was ready. We recommend searching for and downloading the open beta directly through the stores of your PC or consoles. Although there are also links to the respective consoles on ufl.com, the official UFL site, some players reported receiving an error message when trying to access the links.
When will the servers go online? A post was made on the X page of UFL stating when the servers are supposed to go live worldwide:
For Germany/Berlin, the start time is set for 14:00. We have already been able to log in successfully and create our own club, choose a captain, and select our preferred starting formation.
The layout at first glance resembles the Ultimate Team mode of EA FC 24.
