It is very rare to hear about a successful game months in advance. Often, there is a steadily growing fanbase and a certain hype builds up after the announcement of a game – not so with ARK: Survival Evolved.
Rank 4 on Steam
While ARK was recently at rank 4 of the most played games on Steam, today it is still at a solid rank 7, with over 32,000 players online at the same time – even though the “Early Access” phase just started a week ago. At first glance, the game does not differ from its many competitors: it is an open-world survival game where players must withstand the unfriendly environment. Numerous resources can be used to craft weapons and buildings, or simply to satisfy the vital needs like hunger and thirst.
Unlike in “DayZ” or “H1Z1“, the threats are not zombies, but dinosaurs! Depending on the species, these beasts can not only be enemies but also tamed and used as mounts or pack animals.
