Ubisoft has announced that the multiplayer ship combat game Skull and Bones has been delayed. They want to invest more time into the development.
The naval battles must wait
What is Skull and Bones? Skull and Bones is an action game where you are the captain of your own sailing ship. In this game, you engage in combat against other captains. You build a fleet of ships with which you raid trade routes to establish a reputation as a notorious pirate. From season to season, you face new challenges. Skull and Bones will be playable in both single-player and multiplayer modes, but does not offer a traditional campaign.

Ubisoft wants to invest more time in the development. Skull and Bones is the largest project currently being worked on by Ubisoft Singapore. To provide a truly exciting and good gaming experience, the studio now needs a bit more time. This should make the title even more captivating. Skull and Bones will now be released no earlier than April 2019 and no later than March 2020. This is stated for the fiscal year 2019/2020.
Does this affect other games like The Division 2? No. For Ubisoft, The Division 2 is the highest priority. The development of the shooter is already well advanced, and we will experience the online shooter next year. In the first quarter, that is, by March 31 at the latest, The Division 2 is expected to be released. Ubisoft expects very high sales figures. Perhaps Skull and Bones was also delayed to not interfere with The Division 2.
More about the naval combat game Skull and Bones will be shown by Ubisoft at E3 in June.
