Some people who spend a lot of time at the computer wear headsets – whether watching videos, gaming, or working. A gamer shaved his head live on stream on Twitch and discovered a suspicious dent.
What kind of stream was that? On June 3rd, the streamer curtoss held a charity stream on his Twitch channel. There, he raised money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, an organization for the research and treatment of blood cancers and lymphomas.
For charitable purposes, he shaved his head and discovered an elongated dent in the middle of his head.
How does the streamer react? curtoss immediately notes: ‘That’s the spot where my headset sits.’ He seems shocked and yells: ‘I have a damn dent from the headphones on my head! What the hell? I always thought that was just my hair!’
Here you can see his reaction in the clip:
‘He has the gamer imprint!’
How do the viewers react? Curtoss viewers react in the chat with laughing emotes and ‘HAHAHA’ spam. Some write that they also know someone who has this dent. Viewer NatoonieLive writes: ‘Oh, he has the gamer imprint!’
A viewer writes: ‘This guy has played so hard that his skull has changed because of it.’ Others note that he can simply wear a wig or a hat to cover the dent if necessary.
What do other gamers say about it? His clip is picked up and discussed in the r/headphones subreddit. There, some users note that this seems familiar to them. The comment from ADJ_Reflex gets over 150 upvotes:
‘This is nothing new, haha. Imprints from headsets have become a meme among many streamers. It’s nothing serious, just a temporary mark on the skin of the skull. Still, it’s funny to see how streamers react when they notice it.’
Is it dangerous? Since curtoss has hair over the skin, one automatically assumes that the imprint is only on the hair. However, the dent that shows underneath is only superficial because: more pressure is needed for a dent in the bone (via Kotaku).
Many of us will also have the ‘gamer imprint’. As several Reddit users point out, it is comparable to the imprint of glasses – also Daily Business for some of us and thus, it’s not a big deal.
