The top streamers on Twitch in August 2019 are known: The channels that were watched the most. The self-proclaimed WoW nerd Asmongold is at number 1 thanks to WoW Classic. He surpasses shooter specialists Tfue, xQc, and Shroud – because he streamed like crazy. But that’s what almost everyone does – only the German streamer Montanablack is an exception.
What kind of statistic is this? It is the statistic of the channels that were watched the most, by hours. However, only “individual Twitch streamers” are counted here, not game or event channels. The huge CS:GO tournament in Berlin or theDota 2 channel had a crazy amount of watched hours on Twitch recently, but they are excluded.
According to the numbers from Sullygnome, WoW streamer Asmongold was slightly ahead in August 2019:
- Asmongold took first place.
- closely followed by Fortnite streamer Turner “Tfue” Tenney in second place – both are over 10 million watched hours.
- places 3 to 10 are relatively close. The German streamer Montanablack takes 10th place.

The Top 8 Streamers on Twitch: WoW Classic Stronger Since September
What are the numbers for the last 30 days? If you don’t take August but the last 30 days, the picture has significantly shifted towards “WoW Classic.” WoW Classic started on August 27.
Looking at the last 30 days, the dominance of WoW Classic is much clearer:
- Asmongold achieved 16,250,327 hours. This corresponds to just over 1855 years. He himself was online for 263 hours. Thus, the self-proclaimed WoW nerd is currently the most-watched streamer on Twitch by a significant margin.
- Tfue reached 9,830,691 hours and was visible for 216 hours – he has clearly lost, more than just his Fortnite trio. Tfue has many more followers than Asmongold on Twitch.
- In third place is already the WoW streamer Sodapoppin with 7,627,429 hours – he was online for 231 hours.

- In fourth place is the Brazilian Gaules with 6,658,416 hours – he was online for a massive 719 hours. He primarily plays CS:GO.

German Streamer Only “Slightly” On Air, But Many Viewers

He currently streams mainly gambling under the category “Slots”. This seems to be incredibly popular in Germany.
