The streamer Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp was successful in League of Legends. He won the Twitch Rivals tournament, but afterwards was upset with Twitch. They had banned one of his LoL players, “Tarzaned”, and informed him shortly before the tournament final.
Tyler1 won the Twitch Rivals tournament with his team, “Shadowdogs”. The tournament had a prize pool of $75,000 – the winner received $25,000 and additional prize money. However, Tyler1 is not on good terms with Twitch after the tournament.
What is Tyler1 upset about? Twitch has banned the LoL player, Julian “Tarzaned” Farokhian, for 30 days. He is not allowed to stream on Twitch during this time. Tarzaned was the jungler in Tyler1’s team.
The news of the impending ban reached Tarzaned only an hour before the final day of Twitch Rivals, the LoL tournament organized by Twitch itself.
Tyler1 does not agree with this decision:
“What kind of stupid idiot at Twitch lets this man know he is getting banned, and that an hour before a tournament that is being held by Twitch? Who lets him know so shortly before the tournament that he is being banned for something he supposedly said 2 weeks ago?”

Tyler1 also finds the “30-day” ban for Tarzaned much too harsh because he had never been noticed before.
Tarzaned has now filed an appeal – but whether that will be successful, Twitch does not know:
- The Twitch support is poor and often does not respond.
- Twitch’s punishment system is completely nonsensical. They need clearer rules with milder penalties for “first offenders” and harsher penalties for people who repeatedly and intentionally violate rules.

What was Tarzaned banned for? As Tarzaned himself says, a player harassed him for years. Therefore, he “let him win” and stooped to his level. At that moment, he was so angry that he did not think about what he was saying.
So he apparently insulted him badly and flamed back. For this, he has now been banned from Twitch.
Tarzaned now regrets this.
Twitch ban deprives streamer of a chance
Why is this so bitter? Tarzaned is a medium-sized streamer on Twitch with 250,000 followers. The victory at Twitch Rivals would have actually given him the chance to make a breakthrough. As he played strongly as a jungler at Twitch Rivals, he drew attention from the LoL community.
In the last days, he has experienced a noticeable upswing on his Twitch channel. His proximity to Tyler1, the largest LoL streamer on Twitch, surely helped him with that.
Tyler1 even predicted a “career” for him in the LCS, the professional league of LoL.
The 30-day ban now means he cannot take advantage of this opportunity.
