Many know Hafthor Julius Björnsson from his role as “The Mountain” in Game of Thrones. However, the strongman is also active on Twitch and recently reported there about his latest discovery: the MMORPG streamer Asmongold.
Who is the actor? Hafthor Julius Björnsson portrayed the character Gregor Clegane in Game of Thrones, known as “The Mountain”. The Icelander is among the strongest men in the world as a strongman and consumes over 10,000 calories a day in preparation for competitions.
However, the diet of Twitch streamer Asmongold might not agree with him, as he revealed in a recent stream.
Strongman proposes swap with Asmongold
What has the actor discovered? In a stream on his own Twitch channel Hafthorjulius, the actor reports that he stumbled upon a “brilliant” podcast. It was “Steak and Eggs”, a podcast that Asmongold runs together with two members of his content organization OTK, Emiru and Tectone.
Hafthor came across an episode from early 2023, in which Asmongold rated various types of fruit – many of which he apparently tried for the first time. The Twitch streamer’s diet primarily consists of fast food, soda, and candy – and steaks for $2.
“I was shocked,” exclaims the strongman. His companion explains to him that he has “seen nothing yet” and that Asmongold is “different”, but Hafthor insists: he has seen everything he needs to see. You can watch the stream excerpt here in the original English version:
However, the video sparked an idea for him: The athlete contemplates how entertaining it would be to travel to Texas with Asmongold and try each other’s diets. Hafthor admits that a day on Asmongold’s diet would probably be enough to lose all his “gains”, but he doesn’t completely dismiss the idea.
“Can you imagine how funny it would be to see him eating my diet? He would be in trouble. He took tiny bites of the food and almost died.” Whether the two will meet is uncertain – there has not yet been a response from Asmongold.
Aside from his diet, Hafthor can certainly appreciate something about Asmongold: He finds him quite funny, mentioning that there were a few times he almost died from laughing.
Fast food is an essential part of many Twitch streamers’ diets: Those who stream many hours daily often have neither the time nor the desire to spend long hours in the kitchen.
