Until her break in 2023, Antonia “Reved” Staab was the biggest streamer on German Twitch. Now she officially streamed again and also talked about where the money comes from when a full-time streamer can no longer stream.
What happened with Reved? Reved announced in August 2023 an indefinite streaming break. She reported on health problems that she had been suffering from for quite some time. She wanted to finally address them calmly.
Since then, viewers have only seen the streamer on her Twitch channel for special occasions, to moderate her Stream Awards – and to shower Papaplatte with awards. Reved’s fans must have been quite surprised when they discovered her stream last Sunday – could this be the long-awaited comeback?
With a week-long streaming marathon, Reved performed at her best before her break.
Spontaneous stream with 20,000 viewers
What was this stream like? On April 14, 2024, Reved spontaneously started the stream. She explained that a recording of the format “The Dumbest Flies” was planned for that day. While sitting at the PC, she thought she might as well stream – perhaps she was tempted by her secret comeback.
The streamer admitted that she had previously been uncertain about such spontaneous streams, but she decided to give it a try.
How did it go? Contrary to Reved’s concerns, the spontaneous stream went really well. Although she announced the stream only about two hours in advance, up to 27,000 fans tuned in, with an average of 19,800 viewers – for comparison: before her break, Reved streamed to an average of 6,000 to 8,000 fans (via SullyGnome).
Where does the money come from when you can no longer stream?
In her stream, Reved also briefly talked about her financial situation, as an important source of income has disappeared with her streaming break. Although she says it “works,” she also admits to being glad that she saved diligently.
Currently, her income consists solely of YouTube and placements – due to her long break, she currently has no advertising partners for her streams. Although YouTube is going well, and she can pay for everything, Reved assures that it is still no comparison to her earnings last year.
In this context, the streamer also mentioned that she is parting ways with an employee. Twitch colleague HandOfBlood also recently reported on the responsibility of having to pay salaries as a content creator suddenly.
Reved gives an update on her health
How is the streamer doing? Reved used the hour before “The Dumbest Flies” started to update her viewers on her current situation. She also talked about the headaches she has been suffering from for over three years. She is not yet at the point she wants to be.
For this reason, there will not be regular streams from Reved for the time being – she does not want to put herself under that pressure. Due to upcoming doctor appointments, she will be in Germany for weeks at a time and may not be able to stream normally during that time.
She is not quite sure herself how things will proceed now. Reved clarified that she does not want to promise anything at the moment, as she simply cannot keep it. However, she plans to have some spontaneous streams again in the future when she is already planning recordings for her formats.
