There is a dispute in the German Twitch scene between the casino streamer Kevin “Orangemorange” Bongert and the opinion blogger Kilian “Tanzverbot” Heinrich. At gamescom, the conflict escalated into a brawl, and in March 2023, Orangemorange followed up: He allegedly “accidentally” revealed Tanzverbot’s address publicly on Twitch. Tanzverbot asks when it will finally end.
What kind of conflict is this?
- Orangemorange built a career as a GTA 5 streamer on Twitch in 2019 and 2020, but has mainly shown “casino content” since 2022. He apparently has a lucrative deal with the online casino “Stake.” A model for such deals is the US streamer Trainwreck, who makes a lot of money with such a deal.
- Tanzverbot is one of the biggest critics of casino streams in Germany. Like many other Twitch streamers, he accuses casino streamers of immoral behavior. They would lead their viewers into gambling addiction and financial ruin while benefiting financially from it. The accusation is: Those who stream casinos sell their souls and their fans.
- This dispute already led to a brawl at gamescom 2022 in Cologne: At that time, Orangemorange threw a cup at Tanzverbot but hit a woman instead.
Orangemorange “accidentally” reveals address of Tanzverbot
This is what Orangemorange did now: In a stream, Orangemorange told his viewers that he has seen an affordable apartment in Berlin, mentioned the address, and asked his viewers if anyone could tell him how the area is. The apartment is a “bargain.”
In the chat, people immediately said: Isn’t that the address of Tanzverbot? How could he make it public?
However, Orangemorange expressed surprise. It was simply an address he was considering moving to:
Tanzverbot lives there? Huh? He lives in Berlin. What are you talking about? No, nonsense. Tanzverbot lives somewhere in Berlin, but I picked this one because the area is said to be very nice. So here with these nice… trees and so on. Can someone recommend this to me?
But this passage is widely seen as an attempt to make Tanzverbot’s address “public and leak it.”
That Orangemorange is really looking for an apartment in Berlin seems unlikely:
- On one hand, it would be very strange to leak the address yourself in advance.
- On the other hand, casino streamers list “Malta” as their residence to avoid problems with the authorities. It’s already a running joke online that Orangemorange claims “Malta” as his residence, but everything indicates he lives in Madeira (via Twitter).
- That he is publicly looking for an apartment right where his intimate enemy lives, with whom he has been feuding for months—seems unlikely.
- The justification that “he has heard Berlin is nice” and “the apartment has nice trees and such” sounds flimsy.
Tanzverbot asks: Where does it end?
This is what Tanzverbot says: He accuses Orangemorange not only of having leaked his address in front of several thousand people but also says Orangemorange has dragged his girlfriend, the Twitch streamer QuiteLola, into the conflict and publicly claimed that Tanzverbot and she consume cocaine.
Tanzverbot asks: Where does it stop?
Orangemorange denies the accusation – Besides, it was “anyway on Kick”
What does Orangemorange say? He is—like always—completely innocent. However, he can’t settle on a defense strategy.
While he denies all accusations on one hand, on the other hand, he implies that Tanzverbot somehow deserves to have his address leaked. After all, he still found it funny when it was about “ApoRed.” Now that it concerns him, it is no longer funny.
Moreover, Orangemorange states that he didn’t ask about the apartment on Twitch, but on Kick. If someone has a problem with that, they should address it to Kick, not Twitch.
Deliberate Provocation as a Marketing Strategy
How is this seen? Some people on Twitter are now calling on Twitch to take action and ban Orangemorange.
Indeed, it seems that Orangemorange is deliberately heading for a Twitch ban with his behavior in recent weeks.
He seems to be primarily using the Twitch platform at the moment (via Twitter) to direct viewers to his stream on “Kick,” where he can promote the casino content for his partner Stake. This is prohibited for him on Twitch.
Since Twitch banned the online casino Stake, Orangemorange is even more noticeable for provocations than before:
