On November 16, CoD Warzone 2 went online along with the “Season 1” update of Modern Warfare 2 and allowed players to embark on an exploration journey. Two Twitch streamers were able to uncover a first secret of the new “Al Mazrah” map.
On November 16, Call of Duty Warzone 2 launched and immediately attracted numerous players. Among the players was also a number of top streamers who wanted to give the new Battle Royale a chance.
Two streamers, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins and Dennis “Cloakzy” Lepore, dived into the game for some matches and made an interesting discovery right away.
Cloakzy rewarded for jumping into the water
What’s the deal with the water? One of the biggest innovations in the gameplay mechanics of Warzone 2 is the ability to swim. This means that deep water no longer results in instant death, as was the case in the original version of the Battle Royale.
This change had already sparked speculation in the CoD community in advance. Players were already preparing for cool underwater battles. Now it is clear that the water will offer much more.
How did the discovery occur? In a Twitch stream on November 16, Ninja and Cloakzy were exploring the new desert map Al Mazrah. Cloakzy apparently wants to test the possibilities of the changed gameplay mechanics and promptly jumps into a nearby body of water.
However, he discovered more than just algae on the bottom of the water: “What is this on the bottom?” asks Cloakzy, before Ninja follows him into the water.
What did the two streamers discover? At the bottom of the water, there was a chest with a number of items just waiting to be collected.
Cloakzy excitedly describes his find: “Oh my God, there’s hidden loot down here with a free armor plate and a precision airstrike!”
With the announcement that water should become a new core feature in Warzone 2, players may have already anticipated such hidden treasures.
Nevertheless, the discovery was surely a pleasant surprise on release day. For fans, it is likely an incentive to explore every corner of the new map looking for more loot.
