The Twitch streamer Felix “xQc” Lengyel is currently banned. However, he is making the most of the ban and has gone viral on Twitter with a meme.
This is what happened: The story about xQc began in mid-November:
- On November 15, xQc faced several other streamers in a Twitch Rivals of Fall Guys. There xQc utilized stream sniping and was criticized for it by other colleagues.
- Shortly after, xQc was banned by Twitch – such behavior in a tournament was considered cheating. He had to take a break for a week.
- Days later, Twitch also banned 4 other streamers involved in this action.
The ban on xQc lasts until November 25. In the meantime, the streamer has optimized this break and gained much attention on Twitter with a recreation of a meme.
xQc optimally uses his forced break
This is what xQc did: The streamer recreated a meme on Twitter showing Pablo Escobar from the series Narcos looking sad and bored.

The meme has already become a hit on Twitter. Over 210,000 likes and nearly 13,000 retweets are giving the streamer a real hype on Twitter. (As of: November 23 at 4:00 PM)
Compared to other images and tweets from him, there is a significant difference. On average, those have around 60,000 to 70,000 likes and usually not over 3,000 retweets.
This is why such a break is good: After the cheating incident, xQc came under the scrutiny of many streamers who talked about him. This naturally brings attention to the streamer himself.
Something similar was mentioned by the streamer colleague shroud. He stated that a ban on Twitch in this situation is the best thing that can happen to a streamer. One can take a vacation, and afterward, they usually have even more attention.
With the meme, xQc is now also sending the perfect signal to his viewers: He is bored without Twitch and seems to be sad about it.
The outcome remains to be seen: It remains to be seen whether xQc has benefited from this ban on Twitch and whether he has not only become more popular on Twitter. From November 25, he will be unbanned. Then we will see if his stream can attract even more viewers than it already does.
