The Twitch streamer Félix “xQc” Lengyl bought a luxury car in 2021, a McLaren 720S Spider Coupe. Since he did not have a driver’s license, he registered the car in his then-girlfriend Adept’s name. Two years and one ugly breakup later, he apparently regrets it: Adept has now sold the car.
This was the story back then:
- xQc flexed in front of his viewers in December 2021 with a new car. At that time, xQc was on a high, had extremely high earnings on Twitch.
- At that time, he decided to “treat himself”. When he saw the car, it clicked for him. He planned to get his driver’s license eventually.
- At the time, his heated on-off relationship with the streamer Adept, which often had its ups and downs, was just on “On”. Nevertheless, there was much discussion when it came out that he had registered the car in her name. For xQc, however, it was just a formality.
Ugly breakup between Adept and xQc
When did things get difficult? Eventually, there was an ugly, publicly fought breakup between xQc and Adept.
Adept stated that she and xQc were married under the laws of the state of Texas because they had lived in a common-law relationship. She sued xQc in a divorce proceeding.
xQc denied this and portrayed it as if Adept was only trying to profit financially from him after the breakup. According to xQc, they were never married. He said the relationship failed when he was feeling down and he had the impression that Adept was now after his money.
Adept had already threatened during the breakup to sell the sports car, which legally belonged to her. She also made allegations against xQc of sexual harassment.
However, this backfired, and ultimately the court also dismissed the divorce case. xQc triumphed.
Adept has apparently sold the car
This was the situation in February 2024: In February 2024, rumors increased that Adept was having financial troubles and planned to sell items belonging to xQc.
However, xQc’s lawyers supposedly obtained a court order on February 20 that protects xQc’s “possessions” (via dexerto).
This is the latest development: Someone actually contacted xQc on Twitter and told him, supported by photos, that he had bought the McLaren from Adept.
However, xQc believes that he is in the right here and that Adept unlawfully sold the car, against the court order he obtained, which prohibits her from selling the car.
The streamer repeatedly says his famous phrase “It is what it is” and apparently believes that Adept has gotten herself into legal trouble here and that he will get the car back through legal means.
As xQc explains, he was offered to buy the car back, but he will not do so. The legal proceedings are ongoing, and he feels justified in that.
This is how it’s being discussed: The discussion about xQc and his wealth is very charged, as many fans of xQc now demonize Adept and portray her as a gold digger who is only after money. It is said that she also demanded a settlement of $2 million from xQc.
Adept, in turn, accuses xQc of having treated her poorly in the relationship and has repeatedly hinted that she feels cheated by xQc.
