The former Overwatch professional Félix Lengyel (26) is known as xQc, one of the biggest streamers on Twitch. He had a rather turbulent relationship with streamer Sammy “Adeptthebest“. In September 2022, they announced their separation. Now she claims that his expensive car actually rightfully belongs to her.
Who is xQc? One of the most viewed streamers on Twitch is Félix “xQc” Lengyel. He often streams for several hours a day, 7 days a week. On average, almost 60,000 of his 11 million followers watch him. In 2021, he treated himself to a McLaren 720s Spider worth over €300,000.
The catch: He doesn’t have a driver’s license at all: He could buy the car without a license but couldn’t drive or register it, which is why the €300,000 luxury car was registered in his then-girlfriend, the streamer “Adeptthebest”.
After the unpleasant separation of the two, there seems to be uncertainty about who owns the car.
The McLaren was at least partially financed by the earnings from paid subscriptions on Twitch.
Adept says the car is registered in her name
In a stream on October 31, Adept mentioned that she picked up xQc with the McLaren recently to do something with him.
This caused confusion in her chat. Viewers wondered why she was apparently driving her ex-boyfriend’s car. Some even demanded that she return the car.
But Adept explained that the car was registered in her name. The streamer implied that she could thus legally control the car.
If you say something about the car, it just shows me that you’ve never bought a car. […] How does vehicle registration work? You have never bought a car in your life, how does it work? Thanks, there are adults in the chat who can give you the answers. To register a car in someone’s name, what do you need?
Adept
Adept’s insinuations quickly led to discussions about whether she has a claim to the car. A thread on the subreddit r/LiveStreamFail regarding who actually owns the luxury car had already gathered over 1,000 comments (via reddit).
There was also disagreement in Adept’s own chat. While some couldn’t believe that xQc still doesn’t have a driver’s license, others thought that it didn’t give Adept the right to drive the car and show off during her “dates” (via Twitch).
xQc addresses rumors: “We are not completely trashy”
In a stream on November 2, xQc discovered the thread about Adept on reddit and tried to put an end to the discussions. The streamer explained that he doesn’t want anyone to be insulted without reason because of the matter. The truth is, however, that the car belongs to him.
Let me clear up this nonsense. Okay? The thing is that the car belongs to me, right? The car will be transferred to me, okay? And that’s okay. Even if the situation escalates, it still belongs to me. My name is on the car.
xQc
xQc admits that Adept is a co-owner of the McLaren because someone had to drive the car.
Don’t you get it? The reason she is a co-owner is that she had a driver’s license so it could be registered. So it can be driven. Makes sense, right? The car has to be registered to someone. So yes, the title and the registration owner. Yes! My name is on the title, the title belongs to me.
xQc
When xQc refers to “title,” he likely means the vehicle title, which remains with the owner of a vehicle and differs from the vehicle registration certificate.
xQc emphasizes, however, that the situation is not a big deal for the two of them.
He can’t drive alone and also doesn’t have a garage, according to xQc. Considering that the McLaren is a so-called super sports car, a particularly expensive and high-performance vehicle, it’s easier and safer for the car to be with Adept.
And even if we seem to have problems or whatever, okay, we are still not completely trashy. In that regard.
xQc
Shortly after, xQc also put an end to the rumors that the outing in the McLaren could mean that the two are trying to give their relationship another chance. He kissed the English streamer NYYXXI at the end of his own stream. Whether she will drive the McLaren in the future is still unknown.
The fact that a romantic relationship with public life as a content creator is not always easy to reconcile was also experienced by the YouTuber Kilian Heinrich alias Tanzverbot:
