The CoD player CHOWH1_ won 100,000 dollars in a solo tournament at CoD Warzone on Twitch Rivals. He used a shield and a shotgun. MeinMMO shows you how he did it and why his victory is causing discussions.
Who is this? CHOWH1_ is a French Twitch streamer and CoD pro (via Twitch). His channel has around 390,000 subscribers and he is part of the French esports team BDS.
What happened? The CoD pro managed to survive as the last player in the “SoloYolo” tournament and won. For this, there was a hefty prize of 100,000 dollars.
He only used a melee setup consisting of a shotgun, shield, and thermite. With a record of 3 kills, he secured the finale.
Here was his tactic: CHOWH1_ cleverly used his resources to maneuver around other players. He relied mainly on stun grenades and proceeded thoughtfully.
Nevertheless, he has an aggressive play style. His fans describe him as someone who plays more for fun and not by using the most common methods just to win. In the clip, you can see his victory:
His playstyle with shotgun and shield, however, does not seem to please some players. But what is the problem?
Melee setup in solo tournament – Skill or Cowardice?
This is the reason for the discussions: With his choice of gear, it seems not every player agrees. Under the winner clip, there are many comments labeling the tactic as cowardly.
Here are some critical voices about the win:

However, there are also numerous counterarguments that defend the player:
- “I suspect you have never seen one of his streams? He regularly gets 15 – 25 kills with the shield, thermite, and sniper. Most commentators, however, see the tactic critically and call for a revision of the rules. The topic definitely seems to polarize. Since September 15, 836 tweets have been written in response to the clip (as of September 16, 14:20).
