The highly anticipated anime MMORPG Tower of Fantasy has been playable in the West since August 11th. As is common with new games, it still has some bugs. A Twitch streamer recently showcased a particularly absurd bug that evokes memories of Paper Mario.

Players share the most unusual bugs
Here’s how the launch went: There was a massive rush for the servers during its global launch on August 11, 2022. The game had over 4 million pre-registrations. This led to long wait times and frustration.
What’s the status now? More and more players are online, exploring the vast game world. They continuously encounter absurd bugs that they share on social media.
This is the craziest bug: Twitch streamer Robbert “SivHD” Eijndhoven, whom some of you may remember as a LoL YouTuber, showcased a particularly wild bug. You can check it out in this clip:
What’s behind the clip: One of SivHD’s weapons can transform into a turret in “Turret Mode.” Every time his character exits this mode, he seems to become slightly thinner. SivHD repeated this until his character was completely flattened.
In the side view, his character suddenly has a half-bald head. It gets really crazy when SivHD makes his character look straight ahead. Then, he is literally just a line in the landscape.
Here are the reactions: The chat laughed along with the streamer. Some jokingly said: “Slim Shady” or “Paper Tower.” When a viewer asked whether SivHD had lost his mind or if the discovery would contribute anything to the game, he joked:
It’s important! Because if I approach an enemy now, they won’t see me coming. […] I can sneak up on people.

How does the bug work? The exact cause of this phenomenon is not yet known. However, it seems to have something to do with the animation used when the character exits the turret mode. It seems to be slightly squished to create the impression of rapid movement.
What other bugs are there? Some players simply fall through the ground and end up under the map. Others catapult themselves directly into the endgame without bothering with the story. Still, others simply become very large.
This is what the developers say: Hotta Studio is aware of the issues and promises to work on solutions as quickly as possible. They thank players for their trust and announce compensation in the form of in-game currency. (via Tower of Fantasy)
