Twitch streamer Trymacs has drawn a line under FIFA 23: In the stream, he deleted each card of his insanely expensive team – one after the other.
In recent weeks, Twitch streamer Trymacs has caused quite a stir with FIFA 23.
- Initially, the streamer invested a lot of money into the game and managed to get what is probably the best team in the world
- In previous years, Trymacs also invested a lot of money in the FIFA installments. For these investments, there was always criticism, even though Trymacs emphasized that no one should follow his example and that he would get back more money than he invested.
- In mid-October, the change of mind came: Trymacs stated after a detailed video from his brother that he would stop playing FIFA 23 due to the gambling aspect and that he would not want to play FIFA anymore in the future.
But what happened to the team that was created in FIFA 23 for a total of €21,000? This question was answered by Trymacs on Friday evening, October 21.
Trymacs removes each player individually from his FIFA 23 team
This happened in the stream: In the “Just Chatting” channel, Trymacs spoke again about FIFA 23 and Ultimate Team. He criticizes the loot box mechanics clearly and says that one should definitely stay away from it.
He spent €21,000 within 7 days for the game: “And now thrown away. But well, better late than never,” Trymacs says about it – and deletes each individual player from his team.
Expensive and rare players, icons and heroes, Ronaldo, Jairzinho, Mbappé, Pelé – all gone. “This is even crazier than just deleting the game,” says Trymacs in the stream. In the end, only the bronze card of Niklas Sommer remains in the team.
For this, Trymacs chooses the “Quick Sell” option in FIFA, where you do not put a player on the transfer market, but simply “delete” him for a fraction of his value. “I don’t want to encourage anyone to get the players,” Trymacs says about this: “One can retrieve three players, but I won’t do that.”
He describes the action as a “painful end”, which makes the line “much clearer for many”, according to Trymacs.
He does not want to harm his viewers through pack openings; the risk of imitation is too high: “I won’t play for the next few years either. I made a huge mistake; I shouldn’t have started FIFA at all.” He intends to donate the revenue generated by the video.
In conclusion, Trymacs deletes FIFA 23 from his PS5. This seems to mark the end of Trymacs’ FIFA career for good.
The loot box mechanics have been criticized not only since FIFA 23. For years, it has been criticized that one can invest real money in packs in Ultimate Team, which only offer low chances of getting strong players. So one does not know what exactly one is ultimately spending their money on. More about the chances in FIFA 23 packs can be found here.
