Twitch streamer struggles with a challenge in Borderlands 2, beaten by a brazen imitator

A player has taken on a special challenge in Borderlands 2. He invested over 800 hours of gameplay, only to be beaten by an imitator.

What was this special challenge? The Twitch streamer HeyBlasty played Borderlands 2 with the goal of finishing the loot shooter without taking a single hit. This challenge is also known as a “No-Hit-Run” or “Hitless-Run” and also exists in other games.

The entire project has been streamed by HeyBlasty on Twitch for over 9 months. In total, he took 826.8 hours for the self-imposed challenge, the streamer reports on X.com. He finally succeeded in his 112th attempt.

According to PCGamer, HeyBlasty spent a large part of the time developing the perfect route through the game to avoid damage as effectively as possible.

Imitator takes someone else’s idea and is faster

What about the imitator? Just before HeyBlasty completed his hitless run for the first time, another player succeeded with the same challenge.

The Twitch streamer and Borderlands speedrunner “darksmoke11” also started a hitless run in Borderlands about a month ago. In his first stream of the challenge, he also stated that he was inspired by HeyBlasty. Additionally, he wanted to use some routes from HeyBlasty in his attempts.

After just 13 attempts, darksmoke11 completed the No-Hit-Run – only about a month after starting the challenge. And thus, he finished even earlier than the originator HeyBlasty, who wrote on Reddit: “darksmoke11 completed the run less than a day before me. I would like to say 10 hours before me, but it could have been a bit more.”
