Twitch streamer Alpharad played Pokémon with his community in the stream, but then went to sleep. The viewers continued – and meanwhile they hatched him a rare monster using chat commands.
What happened in the stream? Alpharad played a format called Twitch-Plays-Pokémon in the stream. In the game, viewers can control the game with chat commands. With certain commands, they can for example make the character run.
As it got later, Alpharad decided to go to sleep. To allow his viewers to continue playing without having to interrupt because of him, he stayed live and let the game continue.
Alpharad’s viewers, who were playing the “Pokémon Crystal” edition, received a so-called Odd Egg in the meantime. They then hatched the egg and got a rare Shiny Pii.
On Twitter, Alpharad shared a video of the stream where the successful hatching of the Shiny Pii can be seen:
Why is the Pokémon so rare?
The rarity of Shiny Pii: The Pokémon hatched through the chat is a Shiny Pii. Shinys or shiny Pokémon are common Pokémon in unusual colors that differ from the normal case.
Shiny Pokémon are considered very rare and are therefore coveted by many Pokémon players. The chance of obtaining a shiny Pokémon from an Odd Egg is increased and is at 14%.
Nonetheless, Alpharad can consider himself lucky. The chance of getting a Shiny Pii from the Odd Egg is only 3% (via Bulbapedia.net).
Shiny Pokémon are rare and coveted beings in the world of pocket monsters. It is indeed something special to own one or even several.
