New World has been under heavy criticism in recent weeks. The focus is on bugs, exploits, and missing endgame content. Even the Twitch streamer Michael “shroud” Grzesiek has been vocal in his criticism. However, in a new livestream, he emphasizes that New World has still captivated him and that he will remain loyal to the MMO.
What are the problems with New World? The list of issues is long. The biggest complaints over the last 3 weeks have been:
- A glitch that made players invulnerable
- Players who reported others to ban them and win wars
- A gold exploit
- Weeks of issues with server transfers
- Numerous bots farming materials
- Critical bugs like an HTML code that crashed your game
- Balance issues and even some passive abilities that do not work when you skill them
Even the Twitch streamer shroud has expressed a lot of criticism. He noted that endgame content is missing and that the first players have essentially already achieved everything. Additionally, he finds the interface annoying.
What did he say? In a livestream, shroud again complained about bugs. Nonetheless, he cannot seem to detach himself from the game. He explains:
All the bugs and exploits that this game has are damn wild. But even with all the bugs and exploits, I’m still here. So [New World] is doing something right.
“I don’t care how many bugs there are, I’m just having a good time”
Why does he enjoy New World so much? Even before the release, shroud praised New World for promoting many different play styles. Players can enjoy themselves as crafters, grinders, dungeon runners, or PvPers while still reaching max level.
He has now spent hundreds of hours in New World and is still having fun. This is probably also because he doesn’t take the bugs to heart:
I don’t care how bad wars are. I don’t care how many different dupe bugs there are. I’m still here and having a good time. Fuck it.
It’s good, it’s bugged, it’s trash – like all games, to be honest.
He further explains that he simply enjoys having fun with his group doing some nonsense:
I really enjoy it. I play with all my friends. We do some nonsense together. Good times. I enjoy the game, despite all the bullshit. At the end of the day, it’s a damn game. We paid forty dollars for this shit. We definitely got our money’s worth.
What are your thoughts on the problems of New World? Or like shroud, do you not mind and enjoy your time in the game? Was it worth the 40 euros, or would you rather have invested it in another game?
In a new article, we look at how many players are at max level and what that means:
In New World, 8% of players are at max level – What does that mean?
