Fortnite: Battle Royale releases tons of new content and provides players with a steady stream of new content. According to Twitch streamer Shroud, this is a troubling development that will affect all other games and especially the players.
Actually, the weekly updates of Fortnite are a great thing. The game never gets boring; there is always something new. Anyone who doesn’t log in for a month might not even recognize the game. Just because the map is constantly evolving, as seen recently in Season 9.

And then there are tons of new items, weapons, and gameplay features. That’s actually good, right? Shroud is skeptical.
What does Shroud say about Fortnite’s update pace: Professional gamer Shroud, who is legendary in CS:GO and played a significant role in Apex Legends, expresses concern in a stream about the update pace of Fortnite and the influence it has on other games.
Because of the high density of content updates, millions of players are, according to Shroud, being spoiled. They then expect such a plethora of new content in every other game, which these games and development studios simply cannot deliver.
“Fortnite has spoiled us. If it didn’t exist, we would appreciate every other game so much more. But because Fortnite exists and players see that it is possible to have such updates every week, everyone who is clear-headed thinks, ‘Yes, damn! I want every game to be like this!’ But that just isn’t possible.”

A prime example here is Apex Legends, whose developers have deliberately opted for less frequent updates. As a result (and due to numerous bugs), player numbers have recently dropped significantly.
However, the high pace of Fortnite has a dark background. An insider report reveals terrible conditions at Epic and a stressful work environment.
