Twitch streamer shows 4 hours of gameplay from Dragon’s Dogma 2 – Says ‘It’s legal, I have the receipt’

The official release of the new role-playing game Dragon’s Dogma 2 is on March 22. But already a week before, the streamer JustIchor showed about 4 hours of gameplay on Twitch. That’s all okay, he said, but Capcom apparently saw it differently.

Who was streaming? The small streamer “JustIchor”(under 50 followers) already showed 4 hours of Dragon’s Dogma on Twitch on March 15.

He said: He bought Dragon’s Dogma 2 at his Walmart, has the receipt and is doing nothing illegal here.

However, Capcom apparently had a different legal opinion and interrupted his stream with a copyright claim: The content on the channel was removed at the request of the rights holder, it now says on Twitch.

As Gamesradar writes, the streamer was repeatedly warned by viewers that what he was doing was a feast for Capcom’s lawyers. After all, he was showing more than had been visible in any showcase or demo, and Dragon’s Dogma 2 is one of the biggest releases of the year.

Is the gameplay still visible? Some mirrors were uploaded – but apparently Capcom has worked overtime here and successfully deleted the almost four hours of gameplay from the internet so far.

Streamer has many more viewers than usual, but was it worth it?

Was it worth it for the streamer? Well, the streamer normally has about 4 viewers, but during the stream, he peaked at 1,438. Furthermore, he was able to quintuple his follower count from 45 to 208.

Whether this paid off for him will likely depend on whether there will be legal consequences or not.
