The Twitch streamer Amouranth is spitting venom and bile against the company “META”. She says her own profile on Instagram has been banned. She was banned for “nudity”. However, there is now a “fake” version of her roaming around that is much worse than she is herself. The false account with almost 120,000 followers is defrauding gullible love seekers out of several thousand dollars. This is unacceptable.
Who is Amouranth?
- Amouranth is the largest streamer on Twitch, but also the most controversial.
- To raise money for an animal welfare project, the 28-year-old Kaitlyn Siragusa has been acting as a “shameless E-Girl” in recent months, posing in underwear in front of the camera, fueling her social media accounts with provocative photos, and constantly inventing new “metas” to be as sexually provocative as possible on Twitch without getting banned. She mostly earned money by luring her fans to a pay platform.
- This phase of her career is about to end because Amouranth knows she cannot continue the game of posing and provoking forever.
What bothers her about Instagram? Amouranth is now venting her frustrations about Instagram on Twitter. There are several things that trouble her, which led to an outburst:
- Her own account on Instagram has been banned for “nudity”.
- Previously, an Instagram moderator even tried to extort her, who was supposedly hired as a contractor by META.
- Since she was banned, a “fake account” has been operating on Instagram that is much worse than she was herself back then. Her ban on Instagram created a gap that is now being filled by the fraudster. She holds Instagram directly responsible for this.
“Fake-Amouranth” is said to have defrauded people out of several thousand dollars
What is the account accused of doing? Amouranth says the new account there, “Amoruanth_Official”, which already has nearly 120,000 followers, is posting her pictures in underwear – even those very pictures for which she herself was banned from Instagram.
Moreover, the false Amouranth would be pulling a “romance scam” and has defrauded people of several thousand euros.
Amouranth says: this “fake account” is causing much more harm than she has ever done. It misuses her images and public image to criminally defraud people.
For Instagram, you don’t exist without an Instagram account
This makes the situation even worse for Amouranth: The streamer seems particularly outraged that she cannot get through to Meta with complaints.
She says: Because she herself has been banned from Instagram, she cannot do anything. Because Instagram tells her she cannot prove that she is the real one, since she does not have an Instagram account to show that she was the first to upload the photos.
Amouranth criticizes that this is a completely insane way of thinking: If you die on Instagram, you are also dead in real life. You cease to exist, and anyone can steal your identity. This appears to be the “short-sighted worldview” of Mark Zuckerberg, the guardian of the “metaverse”.
How is she solving the problem? Amouranth has incited her followers on Twitter to report the fake account.
This apparently had success. After a few hours, the “evil Amouranth” was no longer reachable on Instagram.
What happened to Amouranth is indeed a phenomenon that occurs time and again. When a Twitch streamer is no longer active or streams only rarely, “fraudsters” appear, posing as that very Twitch streamer and try to make money this way. Whenever a vacuum appears on a platform, fraudsters seem to sense their great opportunity:
