The big Twitch streamer Quintin “Quin69” Crawford was banned from the platform again on February 16, even though he had resolved to not get banned a single time this year. However, this was not his first misstep this year. MeinMMO reports.
Who is Quin69 on Twitch?
- The streamer plays various games, depending on what is currently trending or what he feels like. However, his focus is on Path of Exile. In April 2021, he even played Path of Exile for a full 12 days straight. In between, he otherwise turns to games like Terraria, League of Legends, or Bloons TD 6.
- Crawford streams an average of about 10 hours almost daily. He entertains nearly 11,000 viewers with his cheeky personality.
- With 19,000 subscribers and 664,000 followers, Quin69 is among the largest streamers on the platform.
- The streamer regularly comes up with funny ideas for his livestream. For instance, he once streamed with rainbow-colored hair and a colorful beard or let himself be tortured by viewers with flashbangs while gaming.
Quin69 set specific resolutions for 2022
What did the streamer resolve to do? Together with his viewers, Quin69 made a list of resolutions for the year on January 1, 2022. This list included only 3 points:
- Apologize to the coffee guy
- Pause YouTube videos more often
- Don’t get banned
The last point of the list was already broken after 14 days when the streamer was banned for a full 7 days on January 14. “At least I apologized to the coffee guy,” Quin69 wrote on Twitter while poking fun at himself in a clip.
Why was the first ban imposed? The first ban was imposed because Quin69 said during his stream:
If you can see the butt cheeks, that’s too much. (…) I mean, it’s like they’re [the women] asking to be sexually abused by some damn lunatic.
via YouTube
He was drawing an outfit that women are supposedly expected to wear. A short, crop top with pants that reveal the beginning of the butt cheeks.
This led to a massive backlash against Quin69, and he subsequently made a YouTube video, where he explained his stance further: he just wanted to say that the world isn’t perfect and that there are people who sexually abuse women because of such outfits.
According to Quin69, women could walk around naked in a perfect world, but that is not the case, and therefore they should be careful about how much they show and what they wear.
Why did the 2nd ban come only 1 month later?
While the first ban caused significantly more drama, the second reason was relatively simple but not at all obvious at first.
Initially, it was suspected that he was banned because he showed an air gun during the stream. Showing weapons on Twitch violates the guidelines. However, that was not the reason for the ban on February 16.
In his stream, female nipples were reportedly visible for a few seconds (via Twitter). Quin69 occasionally allows GIFs or videos to be shared in his livestream, and that’s when the fail happened.
This time, the ban lasted only a day, and Quin69 can already stream again. Maybe he can tackle his resolution next year again.
