The streamer BadBunny has found a niche for herself on Twitch. In her Twitch clips, she is a kind of virtual dominatrix who demands money from her viewers and addresses them harshly. Her latest announcement is that while every life is valuable, her life is much more valuable than that of her viewers. She says this was meant to be sarcastic.
This is BadBunny: The streamer has 124,000 followers and occasionally plays games like Minecraft or Starcraft 2. However, she is known for her “Just Chatting” streams. On average, 260 people watch her during these streams.
The streamer caught attention in January 2020. A Twitch clip featuring her went viral. In this clip, she demanded in a rough tone that her viewers subscribe to her channel. It only costs $5 per month. How could someone have hours to watch Twitch but not $5 to subscribe to her, was her question back then.
“Give me damn money”
These are the new clips: In an almost 8-hour “Just Chatting” stream from May 11, the streamer made it clear once again what is important to her: money.
A viewer in the chat says, “He respects her for everything she offers.”
BadBunny:
Then give me the damn money. That’s how I know you respect me, by giving me money. Do you understand that?

Later in the same stream, she told the viewers:
“My worth is so much higher than all the collected worth of all of you in the chat. I know that every life is valuable, but my life is much more valuable than yours.”

These are the reactions: Tournament organizer Daniel “Keemstar” Keem shared the clip on Twitter, and indeed some users are upset with the streamer (via twitter).
However, one of the biggest stars on Twitch, summit1g, stated that BadBunny is just “trolling”.
He apparently believes that the streamer aims to provoke and draw attention with these clips.
BadBunny says she was being sarcastic, making jokes
Here’s the background: There are various ways to be successful on Twitch.
A streamer like Dr Disrespect has shown that you can entertain viewers as a “negative character” by behaving in ways that one typically should not.
Dr Disrespect comes across as arrogant, loud, and macho. He boldly lies straight to the camera, saying afterwards that he doesn’t care at all. The fans love him for it.
According to tweets from BadBunny, she meant her statements to be “highly sarcastic”. She was just making jokes and now finds it amusing that they apparently are not understood.
Her entire appearance on Twitter seems to revolve around engaging aggressively with her male fans.
She stated that it particularly bothers her when people show her images of how they eat $5 bills.
Her approach seems to be to engage with her fans in a sort of “I’ll show them now” relationship. She provokes in various ways.
Many of her tweets revolve around left-wing political views, are critical of capitalism, while at the same time she demands money from viewers in clips.
In the almost 8-hour stream, from which the short clips are taken, she also watched the Michael Moore documentary “Capitalism: A Love Story”.
A streamer who behaved similarly on Twitch recently was the streamer InvaderVie: She demanded money from her viewers, even if they were unemployed. That’s no excuse not to support her.
