The big and well-known Twitch streamer Imane “Pokimane” Anys posted a tweet with her bare face and a sarcastic message to her haters. She wanted to take the wind out of their sails, but the tweet only made things worse. MeinMMO reports what’s going on.
This is the backstory to the “Pokimane and JiDion” drama:
- Pokimane was raided by streamer JiDion, but not with nice words as is usually the case, but with a hate message: “L+Ratio”. Pokimane’s chat was spammed with the message, which means loud booing.
- The streamer and her colleagues were shocked by this. Fans and streamers caused such an uproar over the raid, that JiDion was permanently banned from Twitch after he had only been temporarily banned from the platform.
- After the hate raid, JiDion and many of his viewers took Pokimane’s bare face as a profile picture to get back at her.
- Even the huge streamer Ninja and his wife were involved in the whole scandal, as they claimed that Pokimane spread false information about Ninja and his support for JiDion. They threatened to sue Pokimane.
Pokimane stands up against the hate on Twitter
What Pokimane wrote on Twitter: The Twitch streamer posted the photo of her bare face on Twitter to take the wind out of the sails of her haters.
She wrote the message: “This face deserves more money than you will ever see in your life.”
How did the tweet come about? Pokimane herself didn’t come up with the tweet, but her hate raider JiDion. The streamer actually met with him while the two were filmed by a camera. The two seem to have come to terms, and JiDion posted the video on February 16 on his YouTube channel.
While they were joking at the table and eating, JiDion had the idea that Pokimane should write this tweet. Just to show the haters: This is me, I stand by it, and this is how I look.
Haters took the picture as a profile picture to say: “This is Pokimane? Does she simp for herself? Look how ugly she looks without makeup!” The tweet was supposed to counter this statement.
However, the tweet had the opposite effect.
After Pokimane’s tweet, more haters emerged
Why were there more haters? For many readers, the tweet seemed completely out of context. They said Pokimane was pretentious and shouldn’t boast about her wealth, it was totally weird.
Others still insulted her bare face and claimed that she only earns money while wearing makeup and never streams without it. Pokimane should try streaming without makeup and see how consistently her good numbers hold up.
What does Pokimane say about the hate after the tweet? The Twitch streamer was surprised; she didn’t expect the number of haters, she says in a stream. It must be because the tweet went viral, and most people didn’t catch what the actual meaning and context were.
Furthermore, Pokimane addresses the haters who mock her bare face and says: “If you want to discredit the achievements of the woman you’re mocking for her bare face, screw you, and she says: You haven’t achieved anything in your life.”
Pokimane also receives supportive words
Streamer and friend Valkyrae speaks up: During a stream, Valkyrae saw the tweet from her friend Pokimane and supported it (via YouTube). “She is so hot for this,” tweeted Valkyrae right underneath and continued saying, “I mean, she’s not wrong.”
She was extremely upset about the reactions from the people who insulted Pokimane.
However, before she completely freaked out, she stopped herself: “I will chill…”

It is definitely clear that hate raid sender JiDion and streamer Pokimane have made up and get along well. Whether the haters will soon leave the Twitch streamer alone is questionable. Pokimane has added plenty of fuel to the hate fire with her sarcastic tweet, but she also has some people backing her up.
