Pokimane is currently the most successful Twitch streamer in the world. However, this does not only have positive sides, as she clearly shows in recent streams – and she is even surprised at how many users have been banned in her chat.
This is Pokimane: Imane “Pokimane” Anys is currently at the top of the list of the largest female Twitch streamers worldwide with over 7 million followers. She streams games like “Among Us”, but is also active in Just Chatting.
She is one of the most well-known personalities on Twitch. Pokimane is now so successful that she even introduced a limit for viewer donations.
However, success also has its downsides: The streamer sometimes shows in her streams the kind of messages she receives from users in the chat who have subsequently been banned. She looks at these messages live and then decides whether to lift the ban or let it stand. During one of these streams, she also briefly touched on the topic of ban numbers.
User bans are already high, but bots are even crazier
Here are the numbers: During one of these streams, in which she shows some of the rather unpleasant messages, she emphasizes that only those asking to be unbanned are being shown here. One can hardly imagine how many people are actually banned.
Then she asks her mods if they could quickly provide a number of how many people have been banned in her chat. They respond immediately:
- On the day of the stream, 250 accounts were banned
- Real users total about 350,000 bans
- The numbers of banned bots exceeded ten million
When the streamer hears the number “350,000” herself, she first asks in surprise: “There are no bots included? that’s crazy.” When it is also revealed that over 10 million bots have apparently been banned in her chat, she comments only: “What? Seriously… what? Wow.” Afterwards, she moves on to the next messages.
Even before the numbers were discussed in the stream, Pokimane spoke about the content of the messages she shows in the unban streams. She explained: “The only way to deal with this is to laugh about it.”
That daily life as a successful Twitch streamer is not always easy has been shown in connection with Pokimane several times: In the summer of 2020, for example, she took a temporary break from Twitch due to the overwhelming amount of hate she was receiving.
