The Twitch streamer Esfand had bad luck on his first day in South Korea. He injured himself in an accident at an arcade machine and had to go to the hospital.
Who is it about? The Twitch streamer Esfand streams various games on TwitchTV. From World of Warcraft to PUBG to FIFA, where he coaches his virtual team in the locker room via greenscreen.
The streamer from Texas is currently on a trip to South Korea with fellow streamers and friends Mizkif, Emiru, Austin, and Phin. But on the first day there, he suffered a nasty injury to his thumb.
“A few days not in front of the camera”
This is what happened: The group regularly goes live on the various channels of the members. There is a lot of good cheer and exciting impressions. But that ended quickly when Mizkif talked about the accident in a stream. He explained that Esfand would not be seen in front of the camera for a few days. A bone in his thumb had chipped off.
Of course, the viewers wanted to know how it happened. Mizkif explains that he and Esfand were dueling at an arcade machine to find out who hits the hardest. But Esfand made a mistake.
“He hit upwards with his open hand [the thumb was not applied]. Then he immediately held onto his thumb,” explains Austin in the Twitch clip. “Shortly after, we are in the taxi that takes us to a Korean hospital […]. Esfand was then X-rayed, and it turned out that a piece of bone had broken off in his thumb. Now he is in the hospital and will be X-rayed again to find out if he needs surgery.”
Mizkif jokes afterwards that Esfand might be operated on in Korea and that one can look forward to such a stream. Later, Esfand explained how the injury happened: “I hit as if I had boxing gloves on […] and then I broke both sides of my thumb.”
How is Esfand doing now? On Twitter the streamer showed the X-ray image of his thumb with the comment “Still Gladiator”. An allusion to the fact that he recently earned the title in PvP in WoW.
Meanwhile, Esfand can also be seen again in the group’s livestreams, which are currently (as of May 5 at 2:50 PM) going through the streets of Korea.
They often meet viewers who want to take photos with them or bring them little gifts.
It seems that Esfand is on a good path to recovery and has already recovered somewhat from his injury.
