Twitch streamer Papaplatte drops out of his studies, helps student achieve top grade now

Twitch streamer Kevin ‘Papaplatte’ Teller was able to help one of his viewers improve their school grade with just a simple video message.

Papaplatte dropped out of his studies: Before he could establish his career in Twitch Germany, Papaplatte studied electrical engineering. After he had over 1,000 viewers for a year, he asked strangers for advice on Reddit whether he should drop out of his studies to focus on his Twitch career full-time.

Although many comments discouraged him and preferred that he continue with his studies, Papaplatte chose Twitch.

Now he is one of the most successful Twitch streamers in Germany and managed to help one of his viewers in a bizarre way to achieve top grades in school.

‘I feel manipulated’

How did Papaplatte help his viewer? In a past Twitch stream, a viewer, a student, asked Papaplatte if he could help him with his presentation. Papaplatte recorded a short video message during the stream, in which he asked the teacher to give his viewer the best grade:

(…) He [the viewer] probably didn’t put in much effort and used ChatGPT, but still, he stood here today and put in a lot of effort, and I think if you [the teacher] are considering giving him a 2, just give him a 1. (…) Just make it one grade better.

The viewer shared the result with Papaplatte in another Twitch stream. He sent the Twitch streamer a recorded video of the presentation, showing the clip as it was played in front of the class and the teacher.

Even though the teacher, who was heard in the background of the video, initially said, ‘I feel manipulated’ (Source: YouTube), she gave her student a grade of 1- for his presentation. How much the video message from Papaplatte really contributed to the very good grade remains questionable.
