In early May 2025, the Twitch streamer and YouTuber Sascha “unsympathischTV” opened his own burger restaurant. However, it is not the exclusively vegan food that is the problem, but something entirely different. The influencer hears the criticism but has good reasons to maintain it this way.
What is the criticism? The biggest criticism of the vegan restaurant has nothing to do with the food but with the payment method: In the burger shop, only card payment is possible.
This seems to be particularly problematic for Germans, as they often prefer cash to card payments. Statista published a statistic on the number of annual card payments within the EU. Germany ranks second to last: While the average resident in Lithuania made 886.9 card payments, in Germany, it was only 138.9.

This is the reaction from unsympathischTV: When the influencer talks about the criticism in the latest episode of his podcast “Offline + Ehrlich” (via Spotify (from minute 20:35)), he says: “I’ve upset some people with that, too.”
He seems not to have expected to be criticized for this. After all, he believes that everyone somehow has a payment method with their card, either via mobile phone or the card itself.
His podcast colleague Trymacs jokingly joins in the criticism: “You’d also mess with me on that. Quickly set up a cash register. Then you can get robbed in a much cooler way.”
Although there seems to be some critics of cashless payments among his customers, the influencer still does not want to introduce cash payments. He has two main reasons for this:
- For him, cash is dirty. Due to the exclusive card payment, no employee has cash in hand at any time and has to change it.
- Not having a cash register with cash would minimize the possibility of being robbed. Especially since many (known) people regularly come by and make videos, this could increase the risk of a robbery. unsympathischTV says about this: “Only the wrong [people] have to see that and they will definitely come in at 10 PM with a balaclava and then the cash register is empty.”
What is another problem? Before this, some criticism had already been directed at unsympathischTV’s new restaurant, this time due to the higher prices compared to meat burgers.
