For years, the moderator BigMac ensured order and justice in the chat of Twitch streamer Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris (34). Now it seems that the paths of the two are parting ways. The reason is differing views on the topic of drugs.
Who is this about?
- MontanaBlack was the most-watched Twitch streamer from Germany for 4 years
- He became famous with games like Fortnite, GTA 5 and broadcasting gambling, nowadays he is often in “Just Chatting”
- The special thing about his career: He was previously homeless and had drug problems. He processed these experiences in a book in 2019
- Now he clashed with his popular mod BigMac because the latter had a different opinion on the topic of drug use than his boss

Who is actually BigMac? Who is behind the pseudonym “BigMac” is not known. But for many fans, BigMac simply belongs to MontanaBlack’s streams. He was a moderator for eight years.
Especially the request from MontanaBlack “Ban him, BigMac” is associated with him.
MontanaBlack bans mod for the first time after positive statement on psychedelics
What happened? In a stream at the end of July, MontanaBlack spoke about the topic of drugs. This topic seems particularly dear to his heart as he himself has struggled with drug abuse and addiction and lost friends to drugs.
The people I know who took their own lives always did so under the influence of drugs.

He advised his followers not to seek refuge in drugs.
However, his mod BigMac saw it quite differently and announced in the chat: “Psychedelics fix your life. Don’t listen to him.” Subsequently, he was banned by MontanaBlack for the first time.
How does BigMac react? The former moderator has not publicly commented on the situation so far. After several days without noteworthy activity on his Twitter account, he posted a picture of Galileo Galilei.
This could easily be understood as a jibe towards MontanaBlack. Because the Italian scholar was at that time sentenced to recant his theses. Although they turned out to be correct, the world was likely not ready for them – a role that BigMac seems to identify with.
And what does MontanaBlack say? He apparently hoped to resolve the matter somehow. In the stream, he told his fans that he had sent BigMac several voice messages on WhatsApp. The former mod had not responded to any of them.
That he has also unfollowed MontanaBlack, the streamer interpreted as a sign that their paths would part ways. (via YouTube)
In a stream from August 5, MontanaBlack reported: BigMac had since responded to him. He reaffirmed his decision to ban the mod:
- Although he would still like BigMac and get along well with him.
- He said, however, that BigMac, as his “employee,” must behave in a way that does not harm him as a streamer and public figure.
- Privately, BigMac could have different opinions, but he should not make statements for which MontanaBlack could be banned by Twitch.
However, he also defended himself against statements that he is increasingly alone. Some friendships simply part ways.
MontanaBlack elaborated again on the topic of friendships. He was apparently particularly annoyed by comments from people who are half his age compared to some of his friendships. He complains: “16-year-olds want to tell me something about life.”
