A Twitch streamer encounters his own character in Cyberpunk 2077 and is touched. He can hardly stop grinning.
Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the major releases in 2020 and likely one of the few things that can still bring a nice conclusion to the year. The game has been eagerly awaited for years, and accordingly, the entire gaming world is now diving into it. This also makes Cyberpunk extremely successful on Twitch, leading to some beautiful moments, such as with streamer “CohhCarnage,” who meets his own character.
Who is CohhCarnage? He is a fairly large streamer on Twitch who shares a variety of content – falling under the category of “Variety Streamer,” meaning without a focus on a specific game. While streaming Cyberpunk, he reached over 98,000 viewers and gained over 4,000 new subscribers within 13 hours – a clear winner of the Cyberpunk release.
What happened? CohhCarnage was streaming, like many others, the first gameplay scenes from Cyberpunk 2077. While wandering through Night City, he suddenly stops in amazement and begins to grin, as he hears a familiar voice. A few meters away, he encounters an NPC modeled after him. He starts grinning and becomes calm as he approaches the character and listens to the dialogue options.
What kind of character is this? The character “Garry the Prophet” is a typical doomsayer, a staple in the world of Cyberpunk. He stands in dark alleys, proclaiming his slogans into the night. He repeatedly calls out that people with implants have already lost and that “those above” can see through the cyber-eyes of their customers, creating a massive entertainment machinery for themselves.
Interestingly funny: Two female tourists join the scene to take a photo of themselves in front of the Prophet – perfectly timed.
Cohh Carnage wanted to share more about the Prophet but interrupts himself. Apparently, there is still a secret event with the Prophet that takes place later in the game, as he said:
Now I can talk about it – it’s interesting – because there was an event. Maybe they didn’t include it, but people approach [the Prophet] and … oh, never mind. I think it comes later. No spoilers!
Those who want to find out what event is happening with the Prophet will have to be patient for a bit longer – or better yet, play it themselves.
Other streamers are cautious with Cyberpunk – because certain music should be better not played.
