The Twitch streamer Félix “xQc” Lengyel has a problem: His expensive McLaren is with his ex and apparently all attempts to get it back have failed. Now a new car should be on the way.
How does one lose a car? The McLaren 720S Spider Coupe, which xQc bought in 2021 for the equivalent of 273,000 euros, has a tumultuous history. Since the Twitch streamer did not have a driver’s license at that time, the expensive super sports car was registered under his then-girlfriend, Samantha “Adept” Lopez.
When the couple separated in September 2022, an ugly public breakup started and Adept claimed the car for herself. In August 2023, xQc hinted about the whereabouts of the McLaren. In a stream on September 16, he explained that the car is not really gone – yet a new one should be on the way.
xQc wants to escape the McLaren jokes
What kind of car does he want this time? xQc is keeping that under wraps. For some reason, that would upset people, the streamer says. When he bought the McLaren back then, it was a big deal for him, he explains, just to have something.
Back then, people seemed to understand this wish quite well, the streamer says. Today, however, it is different: His community has grown significantly and many people do not remember that time. They would think he just wants to show off with the car, says xQc.
Furthermore, many people make fun of him because he has “lost” the McLaren, says the Twitch streamer. However, it is not really lost. Now they would be annoyed that he would find a way to break out of these thoughts and patterns by simply buying a new car, says xQc.
Although it is unclear what xQc wants to add to his fleet, he seems to have a preference for Lamborghinis. He looked at them back in 2021, but did not end up purchasing one. Even if the streamer now decides on a car from the Italian manufacturer, he would have to prepare for a long wait time, or possibly pay significantly more.
A German streamer had bad luck: He waited over a year for his Lambo and then wasn’t allowed to drive it at all.
