Former Overwatch pro Félix “xQc” Lengyel (26) is one of the biggest streamers on Twitch. He often streams for several hours a day, so it seems there isn’t always time for a private life off-camera. He recently tried to explain his relationship chaos to his viewers and used a quirky gaming metaphor for that.
What kind of relationship was it? Since 2021, xQc has been in a relationship with the streamer Sammy, also known as Adeptthebest. In September 2022, he made the breakup public, even though she had requested privacy, which led to a very public dispute.
As it turned out, xQc’s expensive luxury car was registered in Adept’s name, as he does not have a driver’s license himself. In a stream on November 15, xQc responded to a post about the unclear ownership of his car and tried to explain his relationship situation.
Ex-girlfriend apparently had access to credit cards
What post was it about? The post xQc responded to was a photo that Adept had posted of one of his cars. Numerous Reddit users mocked that his ex-girlfriend was in possession of his cars, but couldn’t afford the repair costs.
xQc responded by explaining that he had already blocked his credit cards. The streamer asked if that made him a bad person. A clip of this statement made its way back to the LivestreamFail subreddit, the largest streaming community on Reddit.
In the subreddit, xQc came across the recording the next day and tried to explain the situation.
How did xQc react? The streamer seems increasingly frustrated with the cycle of constantly fighting against rumors, only for new speculations and mockery to arise under his reactions.
I will be honest. I had one of them blocked already because… I am done. You know what? I’m not even gonna fight this damn stuff anymore. I’m done fighting against it.
After xQc had strived to remain neutral to positive so far, he now had enough of going on the defensive, the streamer said.
I’m done defending. I am fucking done… you know what? I’m done being the fucking neutral/positive force. Okay? I was never that. I will never be that. Okay? I tried to do my best in every situation. I’m over it, sorry. Okay, yes. I did that. I don’t care.
How does xQc see his role in the relationship chaos? Apparently, xQc does not want to constantly justify how he deals with his breakup. However, he also does not want to end up hurting others.
This seems to come out at least from the gaming analogy xQc used to end the discussion:
I don’t want to be a DPS (Damage Per Second). Okay? I just want to play the game, no matter what role. Okay? But at the moment, I need a healer. I pick a healer and heal myself. I’m doing fine on my own right now.
Especially in the last part, attentive xQc viewers might have become alert. Because the streamer is actually not alone: At the beginning of November, he confirmed that he was dating streamer NYYXXII.
Phone call between ex-girlfriend and new partner leads to breakup
What is the current situation? xQc has indeed confirmed that he is no longer with the English streamer NYYXXII. Apparently, he had invited his ex-girlfriend Adept over to talk about the situation with his car and his new relationship.
Adept then accused him of cheating on her. However, xQc insists that there was no overlap between the two women, even though the relationships seemed to come very closely together.
I said: “Okay, but I didn’t do that.” You could say it was a close call, I guess. There were two days in between, okay? And then she thought that I might have cheated on her. And I have nothing to hide, damn it.
xQc then gave Adept his phone to show her that he had nothing to hide. However, she used the phone to call NYYXXII and explain to her that xQc was lying to her.
The phone call apparently was not the only reason for the breakup, but it seemed to have contributed. So far, neither Adept nor NYYXXII have commented on xQc’s latest statements.
If xQc is not currently justifying his relationship, then it’s for not paying the moderators in his chat. In a stream with rising Twitch streamer Kai Cenat, he explained the decision and gave creative reasons as to why the mods should rather work out of passion.
