The action MMORPG Lost Ark has firmly caught the top streamer shroud in its claws. Since he got hooked, he can’t stop and has to grind his quests almost daily. By now, he regrets ever having installed Lost Ark.
What is shroud’s situation? The well-known Twitch streamer Michael “shroud” Grzesiek is considered a shooter god, but he mainly loves MMORPGs with a decent grind. However, he initially found Lost Ark boring, but then quickly became addicted.
But it doesn’t seem to be over any time soon. Rather, the game has firmly taken hold of him. By now, shroud even regrets ever having installed it.
“I have to play it for the rest of my life now”
How is Shroud doing now with Lost Ark? shroud still “has to” play Lost Ark. It has become a mandatory task for him. In a recent stream, he sighed:
I will play this game for the rest of my life. I have to do my dailies. When I wake up and know that I have daily tasks and they aren’t done, it really feels like … I should never have installed it. If only I’d never installed it! I should have stayed out there.
shroud sighs and groans heavily, and probably a bit self-deprecatingly. Nevertheless, it still sounds like shroud is quite addicted to the action MMORPG from Smilegate and Amazon.
Appropriately, shroud is reported to have sunk a lot of money into the game. His addiction to Lost Ark – which is actually free-to-play – is said to have already cost him over 1,800 euros.
Why is shroud suddenly so obsessed with Lost Ark? After shroud’s initial arguments against Lost Ark – he found it boring – this extreme focus seems rather bizarre. However, fundamentally, shroud primarily criticized the seemingly dull leveling phase. There wasn’t much for him to do and the grind was too boring even for shroud.
In the endgame, however, things seem to be different for him. He now appears to have found the necessary content diversity that he initially missed in Lost Ark.

An expert on Lost Ark was actually afraid that the game would be released in the West.
