The Twitch streamer “AnnieFuchsia” streamed the beta of the MMORPG New World on July 20 and was briefly “permanently” banned. In a video, she humorously apologizes to cow Bessie for her misdeeds. We at MeinMMO tell you why this video is absolutely worth watching.
What happened here? The English-speaking streamer “AnnieFuchsia” streamed in the first days of the New World beta test. While exploring the starting areas of Aeternum, she noticed a cow named Bessie that could be milked. By milking, players in New World receive milk, which can be used in crafting recipes.
The moment AnnieFuchsia finished milking Bessie, a message appeared on her screen saying that she was “permanently” banned. It seemed that milking had caused the ban. We reported on the incident: Twitch streamer milks cow in new MMO New World, gets notice: Permanently banned.
As it turned out later, a bug in New World’s ban system led to not only AnnieFuchsia but also other streamers like Gronkh being falsely banned.
The banned individuals were on a whitelist to bypass queues, which caused the error. Although the problem was quickly fixed, the timing of the ban was especially amusing for her.
Streamer shows humor and emotionally asks for forgiveness
Why is the video so funny? AnnieFuchsia uses her apology to create as emotional a video as possible. With a disappointed and sad look, she sits in front of her webcam and confesses her misdeeds.
“I touched Bessie and I really regret it. I totally deserve the ban. I touched the wrong udder, it’s true, I really thought Bessie was a cow and didn’t know Bessie was a bull.
I don’t want this apology to sound too “cheesy.” Too much is at stake.”
Her apology is full of puns about “cows.” Unfortunately, many of the puns she included in the video do not work in English, so we cannot translate them all sensibly. Therefore, two examples are presented here in English:
- “While I understand that gaming companies sometimes have “beef” with streamers, this is not one of those cases.”
- “But I hope that everyone can “udderstand” the complexity of the issue.”
You can find the video linked here, and it is definitely worth watching if you’re a fan of bad puns:
Not to be taken too seriously is also her announcement that she wants to atone for her mistake by donating to a charity for underprivileged cows.
AnnieFuchsia seems to have taken her accidental ban with humor and has already streamed New World again.
How is New World doing? The new MMO from Amazon is currently in a closed beta and is generally well-received by our readers, although there are also some criticisms. Especially the servers and character creation are found to be problematic by almost everyone:
